Rebirth Top Star Actress novel Chapter 146

Chapter 146

Chase’s eyes were locked onto Emily, Ignoring whatever expression James might have. “So, tell me, what will it take for you to treat her he demanded.

Emily glanced around at everyone present. “Two conditions.”

“Name them!”

“First, Dwayne must publicly apologize online, admitting he was an impostor. Second, you, Bianca, and James must kneel and apologize to me, admitting that Bianca is not the student of the renowned doctor, but rather a fraud driven by vanity.”

“No way!” Bianca was the first to object, her sharp voice echoing through the room.

James’s face darkened like a storm was brewing. Even though he knew he was wrong, that being a doctor wasn’t easy, and that Emily might indeed be the skilled doctor, he couldn’t bring himself to kneel. Since being taken back into the Smith family and being treated like royalty, he couldn’t imagine kneeling to anyone. The memory of being forced to kneel due to poverty and lack of support was a scar on his heart. Emily knew this, yet she still pushed him.

“Emily, don’t go too far. Kneeling is out of the question,” Chase’s eyes blazed with anger, unwilling to kneel himself but worried about Aurora on the bed.

The situation seemed to hit a deadlock.

Emily shrugged. “From what I can see, if Aurora doesn’t get treatment within half an hour, she won’t make it. You all know who will bear the responsibility. Just don’t regret it later.”

With that, Emily motioned for the medical experts and Aaron to leave.

James signaled his assistant, who quickly blocked Emily and her group.

Emily remained calm. “What is this supposed to mean?”

“Emily, you must treat Aurora today, or you won’t be leaving,” James finally revealed his true colors, staring at Emily with determination.

Emily chuckled. “Do you really think this assistant can stop me?”

Unexpectedly, Dwayne was the first to kneel. “You must be the renowned doctor. Please, save Ms. Rivera! I didn’t mean to harm her. Mr. Smith and Bianca made me impersonate you because I needed the money and thought I could help. I didn’t mean any harm. Dr. Johnson, please.”

Dwayne even knelt to Floyd and Efrain behind Emily. “Dr. Ryan, Dr. Hubbard, please, as doctors, help me convince Dr. Johnson. I swear I’ll never do this again.”

Chase’s eyes cleared as he heard Dwayne say Emily was the renowned doctor. He glared at Bianca. “Did you know Bianca wasn’t the doctor? You must have known it, or you wouldn’t have hired a fake; you would have gone straight to Emily. Unless you knew you couldn’t get her, which means Emily is the skilled doctor.”

Chase felt deep regret and disappointment in Bianca, whom he had always pampered. If she could lie about something so serious, what

else had she lied about?

Bianca’s face turned pale, tears streaming down. “Chase, I-didn’t mean to. We asked Emily, but she refused. She only claimed to be the skilled doctor, but given her poor academic history, we didn’t belleve her. Isn’t that understandable?

Floyd and Efrain, as respected medical authorities, stepped forward to defend Emily. Emily is the skilled doctor. You all claim to be her family, yet you lack basic trust and understanding.”

“I didn’t mean it, Emily. Please forgive me and treat Aurora. I know you won’t let her die,” Blanca pleaded, tears falling like broken pearls, ber frail body trembling.

Emily shook her head. “It’s you who are letting her die. As I said, meet my two conditions, and I’ll treat her.”

Bianca bit her lip, stubbornly refusing to kneel.

Chase’s face darkened, his eyes filled with anger. “Making us kneel, aren’t you afraid of bad karma?”

Emily shrugged. “Then don’t blame me if something happens to Aurora. It’s Bianca and James’s pride that’s stopping me.”

Emily turned to leave.

James made a call, and soon several suited bodyguards blocked Emily’s path.

“I said, if you don’t treat her, you won’t leave.”

Emily’s face darkened. “This is between us. If you want to stop me, fine, but let the innocent go. Aaron is from the Hill family, and Mr. Ryan and Mr. Hubbard are medical authorities. Are you sure you want to offend them? Let them go first!”

Emily wasn’t backing down. She wanted to avoid any harm to Floyd and Efrain, who were older, and ensure they were safe before taking action.

Bianca tried to stop them. “James, no! What if they bring help?”

Emily’s sharp gaze cut through Bianca. “Idiot, do you think keeping these medical authorities here won’t lead to an investigation? Even you can’t escape the consequences!”

Bianca’s face stiffened, realizing Emily was right.

James ordered, “Let them go!”

Floyd and the others protested. “Emily, we can’t leave you. We don’t believe the Smith family can cover this up. We can’t leave you here!”

Emily felt touched. She subtly signaled them, mouthing silently, “You leaving helps me.”

Aaron understood and persuaded Floyd and the others to leave.

Once they were out, James continued, “Now, treat her. I’ll compensate you.”

Bianca, suppressing her dislike for Emily, added, “Emily, be smart. Treat her now, or if something happens to Aurora, it will be your fault. We tried to stop you, but you insisted on treating her and failed.”
