Rebirth: Top Star Actress
Chapter 47
“Mr. Smith!”
24
Bianca whispered, still in disbelief.
She had once seen him from afar while tailing James. Even though it was a fleeting glimpse, she had been both awestruck and intimidated. She knew her own background and health issues, and someone like him was way out of her league. So, she had never entertained any unrealistic fantasies.
But now, seeing Emily actually talking to him…
No, it had to be a coincidence. Emily must have brazenly approached him. And look, Emily didn’t get in the car and was sent away, right?
Bianca reassured herself with these thoughts. She watched Emily leave with a sullen expression, debating whether to approach and dig for
information.
Then she noticed someone lurking around the corner where Emily was heading. Bianca’s gloominess faded, replaced by a manic smile. She almost forgot about the call she had made earlier.
‘Emily, you think you’re so clever? Let’s see how you handle this.‘
“Come out!”
Emily had already walked up to the person watching her and spoke calmly.
“I knew you’d notice us,” said the leader, wearing a plain white T–shirt that didn’t draw attention. As he stepped out, the others positioned themselves to block any escape routes for Emily.
“Yeah, I noticed you. So let’s cut to the chase, who sent you?” Emily asked in a steady voice.
The man chuckled, “I’ll tell you, but only if you cooperate and come with us to that alley for some photos.” He pointed to a narrow, deserted alley nearby, which was actually a dead end.
Emily showed no fear and replied calmly, “Alright, let’s go.”
The man, surprised by her compliance, didn’t use force and led her to the alley. Soon, they reached the end of it.
Emily stopped walking. The men exchanged glances, some finding angles, others pulling out their phones.
“Take off your clothes,” the man ordered with a smirk.
Emily’s expression turned icy, “I never agreed to that.”
The man, taken aback by her sudden defiance, scowled, “You don’t have a choice.”
His tone carried a threat, and he signaled his men to grab her. Emily’s smile widened, but it didn’t reach her eyes, “Is that so? I’ll return those words to you.”

Chapter 47
The man frowned, not understanding her meaning. He thought she might be crazy. But soon, he realized what she meant.
Suddenly, he and his men couldn’t move. Their limbs felt weak, and they collapsed to the ground.
“What did you do?‘ the man asked, terrified, looking at Emily. They hadn’t seen her do anything, yet they were paralyzed.
Emily didn’t want to make things too hard for them. “When I got close to you, I accidentally used a little drug. It’s colorless and tasteless. Right now, it just makes you feel weak. In a bit, you’ll feel normal again, but tonight, it’ll feel like your bodies are being eaten by thousands of ants. Eventually, you’ll develop sores, and your bodies will rot away. Don’t bother going to a hospital; they won’t find anything. I made sure of that.”
The man’s face turned pale with fear, and his followers began to panic, clearly terrified of dying.
“What do you want?” the man asked after a moment of internal struggle.
“That’s simple. Take me to the person who sent you. I assume they want to use these photos to manipulate me. Otherwise, I’ll meet them myself.”
The man was surprised by Emily’s intelligence.
Everything was under her control. Emily had a good idea of who was behind this.
“We can take you to him. We were supposed to bring you after taking the photos anyway. But can you give us the antidote first?” the man asked cautiously.
“Sure,” Emily said without hesitation, “You can move now.”
The men found they could move again. The man eyed her warily, “Aren’t you afraid we’ll harm you again?”
Emily smiled confidently, “You can try. Let’s see if you’re faster than me at using the drug.”
The man shuddered, not daring to take the risk. As Emily followed them out of the alley, she didn’t notice Daniel’s car returning.
“Mr. Smith, should I follow them?” York, Daniel’s driver and bodyguard, asked worriedly. As Daniel’s driver and top bodyguard, a few regular men couldn’t be his match. Also, he had noticed Daniel’s growing interest in Emily over the past few days.
Daniel, rubbing his fingers, was about to get out of the car himself. York quickly stopped him, “Mr. Smith, you can’t. The doctor said you shouldn’t exert yourself to avoid the poison spreading.”
Emily had used acupuncture to contain the poison in Daniel’s body, preventing it from spreading. She had given strict instructions.
Daniel frowned, “Move,”
His calm voice was like the calm before a storm, compelling York to obey. Just as York was about to step aside, Daniel turned back and got into the car.
York was puzzled by Daniel’s sudden change of mind. Daniel coldly instructed, “Get in the car and follow them.”
York got in, glancing at the alley. He saw Emily walking out unharmed, with the men who had surrounded her now acting strangely, as if they feared her.
