“Mr. Smith, it’s an honor to have you here at the Reyes Group!”

Isaac bowed enthusiastically, not feeling the slightest bit embarrassed about his subservient behavior. Probably because this was Daniel, the most powerful man in Emerald City.

Daniel nodded slightly, his gaze falling on Emily. “Ms. Johnson, is this what you are up to? What a coincidence. If I knew I should come over with you.”

His tone was casual and familiar.

Isaac was taken aback. The way Daniel spoke made it sound like he had an appointment earlier with Emily. Wasn’t Emily the daughter they picked up from the trash heap? Clumsy and insecure, how could she know Daniel? A woman valued by Daniel couldn’t possibly be foolish and timid. Byron stood up for Bianca, but was Bianca really that innocent?

Isaac’s thoughts raced, and he smiled. ‘So, Ms. Johnson and Mr. Smith had an appointment. My apologies for interrupting your business, Mr. Smith.”

He lightly slapped his own mouth, showing sincere regret. “Mr. Smith, did you come here specifically for Ms. Johnson?” he probed further.

Initially, he reluctantly signed the share transfer contract, but now he had realized that it was a good thing he did. If he had clashed with Emily, and she had Daniel backing her, Daniel’s anger could cost him the entire Reyes Group. Now that she’s a shareholder of the Reyes Group, she would certainly want the company to thrive. This essentially meant the Reyes Group had a connection to Daniel.

Daniel’s gaze swept over Isaac, who immediately felt an invisible pressure. He shivered and realized he had overstepped. Someone like Daniel, his whereabouts and thoughts were not for someone of Isaac’s status to inquire about.

Emily’s heart skipped a beat upon hearing Isaac’s question. She instinctively looked at Daniel, meeting his deep, vortex–like eyes, as if they were pulling her in. Impossible! She hurriedly looked away, feeling that her thoughts were too self–indulgent and absurd.

“Mr. Smith, since you have business to attend to, I should head to the hospital. Your work is important,” she said. After all, someone like him could be handling billion–dollar projects at any moment. She couldn’t afford to delay Daniel.

Isaac’s ears perked up at the mention of the hospital, but he didn’t dare to look around. However, he couldn’t stop his mind from wandering. A man and a woman just had an appointment, and they had no known elder connections. Could it be… pregnancy? Isaac was shocked by his own speculation. Regardless, he needed to be extra courteous to Emily from now on.

“It’s not a big deal. Wait for me here, I’ll handle it, and we can go together,” Daniel said in a deep voice. Though his expression remained calm and indifferent, Isaac clearly felt a difference. More gentle!

assistant.

“Okay!” Emily took a half step back, following Daniel.

Daniel’s expression remained calm, but his brow twitched slightly. His pace naturally slowed, giving Emily a chance to catch up and walk

beside him. This subtle action went unnoticed by Emily, but Isaac, following behind, noticed. Indeed, Daniel treated Emily differently.

Isaac couldn’t help but secretly observe Emily’s appearance. How could she be so lucky? Despite her somewhat youthful face, her beauty was undeniable. If not for her slight immaturity and thinness, her looks would have already made her a topic in social circles. No wonder Daniel recognized her potential so early.

He personally pressed the elevator button, sending the two off with a smile. “Mr. Smith, Ms. Johnson, take care.

“Wait!” Emily suddenly spoke as the elevator doors were about to close.

“Ms. Johnson, any instructions?” Isaac’s attitude was worlds apart from when he first met Emily. Emily naturally understood it was because of Daniel’s presence. This was good; her entry into the Reyes Group would likely be smoother.

“About Byron, I’ll come by later…”

No rush, no rush. He deserves to suffer for his foolishness. Come tomorrow if you’re free. No, call me tomorrow, and I’ll send a driver to pick you up.”

Isaac’s flattery was obvious, but he didn’t mind. He even enjoyed it.

Emily raised an eyebrow. “Alright!”

As soon as she finished speaking, the elevator doors closed. The atmosphere suddenly became tense.

Emily thought for a moment and said, ‘Mr. Smith, thank you.”

Daniel’s six–foot height made the 5.5–foot Emily appear even more petite.

“Thank me for what?” He slightly turned and looked down, making them even closer, as if Emily was enveloped in his embrace from York’s perspective. The height difference made Emily’s heart race. She lowered her gaze, trying not to look into his eyes. His gaze was too deep, almost hypnotic, making her thoughts uncontrollable.

“Because of you, Mr. Reyes’s attitude towards me has changed significantly. My entry into the Reyes Group will be much smoother, Emily answered honestly.

Daniel raised an eyebrow, a bit surprised. He had worried she might suffer, but it seemed he had underestimated her abilities. In a short time, she not only protected herself well but also gained considerable benefits.

“Helping you is my honor, Daniel said calmly.

Emily was stunned. His tone was the same as usual. But why did these words feel so warm, making her ears turn red? No wonder so many people wanted to be Daniel’s wife. He possessed top–tier looks, power, and was a gentleman with impeccable manners. He didn’t even ask how she secured the job from Isaac.

In the confined space of the elevator, the silence made the atmosphere tense. York felt the most uncomfortable. He thought he shouldn’t be in the elevator but should be waiting in the car.
