Chapter 91
“James, Mr. Smith’s just been temporarily fooled. You gotta pull yourself together and not fall for her tricks. What we need to do now is enter this competition and become Daniel’s therapist. That way, I’ll have a chance to show everyone Emily’s true colors.”
Bianca looked at James with encouragement.
She couldn’t get close to Daniel, so why should Emily?
If she could make everyone despise Emily before, she could do it again and make Daniel hate her, too.
James frowned, sensing something was off.
Bianca seemed unusually hostile towards Emily today.
Was it because of him?
Or had she always been like this?
James suddenly looked at Bianca with a puzzled expression. “Bianca, do you actually have a thing for Emily?”
“James, what are you talking about? Do you think I was too harsh on her? I only said those things because of what she’s been up to lately. I was just upset and worried.”
Bianca’s heart raced, but she tried to stay calm as she replied.
James’s face remained troubled. “Sorry, I spoke too quickly. Anyway, Emily is my fiancée. Let’s drop this for now and focus on the competition.”
With that, he walked off in the direction Emily had gone.
Bianca watched James’s retreating figure, her eyes filled with hidden anger and madness. “Emily is your fiancée, but what am I?”
At this point, James could only be hers.
Meanwhile, Emily had followed Daniel to the lounge.
Emily spoke firmly, ‘Sit down, let me check you out first!”
York and Leroy Hamilton, the organizer of the medical competition, happened to witness this scene.
York had noticed Daniel’s different attitude towards Emily and was slowly warming up to their interaction.
But Leroy gasped. He had just learned about the situation on his way over, and despite the short distance, he was drenched in sweat.
He hadn’t expected to be so shocked upon arrival.
“Mr. Smith…”

Chapter 91
He was contemplating whether to say something when Emily shot him a sharp look and gestured for silence.
When Emily was treating someone, her entire demeanor changed.
It felt like only she and Daniel existed in the world.
Moments later, she finished her diagnosis.
I told you not to overwork yourself, yet you flew here despite the turbulence. You’re completely ignoring medical advice. If this keeps up, no one will be able to save you.”
Emily frowned, thinking about the extra time and resources she would need to spend. She decided she wouldn’t take on such patients in
the future.
Daniel seemed unfazed by her stern attitude and spoke calmly, “When did you tell me that?”
Emily suddenly remembered she had said it while acting as a doctor.
But she lied without hesitation, “Since I’m the recommended doctor, she naturally told me these things. Besides, with your poisoning and weakened body, you should be resting. Mr. Smith, following medical advice is the quickest way to recover.”
She almost blurted out her disdain for medical advice, but stopped herself, remembering who she was talking to.
Fortunately, there was no major issue at the moment.
Daniel appeared casual, but it seemed more like he was explaining why he was there.
“This competition is hosted by the Smith Group. The best participant will have the opportunity to care for me, to prevent any poisoning
incidents.”
Emily nodded.
She suddenly understood why Bianca was so determined to participate in this competition.
In her previous life, it seemed that after this competition, Bianca’s resources visibly improved.
Otherwise, it might not have been so easy for her to marry James later on.
“But…”
Just as Emily nodded in understanding and was about to stop reprimanding, Daniel’s tone shifted.
Emily frowned and looked up, meeting Daniel’s deep, vortex–like eyes that seemed to draw her in.
“With a master like Ms. Johnson, there’s no need!”
Daniel’s smile widened, his eyes full of admiration.
Being looked at by such eyes, even Emily’s heart couldn’t help but race.

She quickly looked away and stood up, “The competition is starting. I’ll go take my place as a judge.”
“Alright!
Daniel didn’t stop her from leaving.
But as he watched her slightly hurried steps, his smile grew.
Emily felt the gaze behind her, and her back seemed to heat up.
Her steps became flustered, and she almost bumped into James at the door.
“Emily!”

James stopped her.
Emily frowned, “What do you want to say? Isn’t my attitude clear enough? Or do you think the injury on your face doesn’t hurt? Do you want me to hurt you again?”
Her gaze fell on James’s face, full of threat.
James instinctively covered his face, sensing Emily’s mocking look. He let go and tried to speak in a calm voice.
“Sorry, I didn’t know you were a judge. You never told me, your fiancé, that you had medical skills. My questioning was out of concern for you. I underestimated you. Since you have a talent, focus on it. Stop fixating on Bianca. She’s excellent and doesn’t hinder you.”
So he came to speak on behalf of Bianca!
He probably truly loved Bianca.
His feelings for her were just childhood memories of shared hardships. Human nature tended to prefer indulging in the present good days over remembering past struggles.
“You should tell that to Bianca. I’ve never tried to overshadow her. She keeps targeting me, so don’t blame me for retaliating.”
Emily retorted.
James frowned, finding Emily unreasonable. Despite his words, she still blamed Bianca.
‘Just coexist peacefully. Today, don’t target Bianca. She’s prepared for this competition for a long time!”
Emily chuckled.
This was James’s true intention.
“Are you afraid I’ll be an unfair judge? Why beat around the bush? As long as she doesn’t do anything wrong, I won’t target her. She’s not worth my effort!”
Emily said, pushing past James to leave.
