Chapter 96
พร
Mr. Watson, I’m sorry about the scene. Emily’s always been competitive with me, so her methods can be a bit… extreme. But I trust you won’t be easily fooled by her, Bianca said, turning to Joe.
Joe’s face remained stern. Bianca probably thought she had it all figured out, assuming Emily would soon be ostracized from the medical community.
But Joe scoffed, “Who do you think you are? Do I need you to teach me anything? And do you even know who she is? She is…”
“Mr. Watson!” Emily quickly interrupted, stopping Joe from revealing her identity.
Instead, she looked at the two with a half–smile, “Why all the chatter? You came to see Joe just to complain about me?”
Bianca was taken aback. Right, she almost forgot the main reason they were here. She’d deal with Emily later. But she didn’t want Emily to know their true intentions, so she coldly said, “Emily, this isn’t your concern. You should focus more on learning basic medical skills. You don’t want to end up harming others and yourself due to incompetence.”
After saying that, she quickly covered her mouth, pretending to regret her harsh words, “Sorry, Emily. I only said that because I’m genuinely worried about you.”
She then turned to James, pulling his wrist, “James, what we’re about to discuss isn’t suitable for Emily to hear. It wouldn’t be too much to ask her to leave, right?”
James knew the upcoming conversation wasn’t for Emily’s ears, to prevent her from getting any wrong ideas. So, James sternly said to Emily, “Emily, you should leave for now. I’ll come find you once we’re done here, and we can have a proper talk. And don’t blame Bianca; she’s right. If you truly want to learn medicine, you should start from the basics and not always look for shortcuts.”
“This is outrageous! Who do you think you are? If anyone should leave, it’s you!” Joe was furious.
Emily quickly tried to calm Joe down, “Look at you, getting all worked up at your age. If they want me to leave, I’ll leave. If anyone needs me, just call.
Joe was surprised by Emily’s calm demeanor this time. When Bianca and James weren’t looking, Emily winked at Joe, Joe caught on to her hidden message. His expression softened, “Alright, I’ll listen to you. There’s no need to get angry with irrelevant people. If you want to leave, then go.”
Emily nodded. She indeed had something to do, so she didn’t linger. Bianca, pretending to be kind, offered to wait outside and give Emily a ride home. Emily didn’t even look back, ignoring her completely.
Seeing the closeness between Emily and Joe, Bianca felt uneasy. Could it be that Emily had already won Joe over? She quickly said, “Mr. Watson, please don’t misunderstand. We’re not targeting Emily. She’s my sister, and as her older sister, I naturally want the best for her. You might not know her well enough yet.”
As Joe was about to retort angrily, Bianca quickly pulled James forward. “Mr. Watson, this is James, the current head of the Smith family.”
James, having returned to the Smith family, was used to being treated with respect. Even in front of Joe, he maintained a haughty attitude. Bianca’s introduction only made him more arrogant. He slightly raised his head, “Mr. Watson!”
Joe could sense James’s arrogance. Clearly, James underestimated Joe’s status.

Chapter 96
:
Someone like Joe, who remained composed even in front of someone like Daniel, had his own pride.
“If you have something to say, get to the point. I’m very busy,” Joe said, his tone cold and distant.

“Mr. Watson, we need your help to introduce us to a very skilled doctor. Rest assured, if you help us, we will show our gratitude,” Bianca hinted, implying a reward.
She assumed Joe, still participating as a judge in competitions, was looking to earn more money. With their clear offer, she believed he would be tempted.
Looking for Emily? Joe thought of the recently departed Emily. Bianca, being her sister, didn’t even know the skilled doctor was right beside her. He finally understood Emily’s earlier hint about someone looking for her.
Joe’s anger and frustration turned into a meaningful smile. “You want to meet her? If you’re so capable, why come to me? What makes you think I’ll tell you?”
Bianca’s hopeful expression froze.
James’s face darkened, his already bad mood now boiling over. “Mr. Watson, I know you hold a high position in the medical field, but the Smith family doesn’t necessarily need you. We came to you for a quicker solution. If you’re unwilling to cooperate, I won’t ask again. But Mr. Watson, getting good medicinal herbs in the future might not be so easy.”
This was a blatant threat.
If Emily saw this, she’d be shocked. How foolish was James to speak to Joe like that? Had he been in a high position for so long that he had forgotten what respect was? He was digging his own grave, and no one could save him.
Bianca didn’t see any issue with James’s “assertiveness. She felt her choice was right. She even added, “Mr. Watson, if I were you, I wouldn’t jeopardize my own interests for someone irrelevant. And rest assured, if you tell us and arrange a meeting with that doctor, both the Johnson Group and the Smith Group will do their best to meet your needs for any medicinal herbs.”
She knew how much a good doctor valued medicinal herbs. By leveraging both the Johnson and Smith Groups, she believed Joe would be tempted.
Of course, Bianca wasn’t foolish. Once she found the skilled doctor, she’d find a way to become their student, gradually elevating her status. Even Joe would have to respect her then.
Joe thought, “People like this don’t deserve to practice medicine.”
If they wanted to meet, fine! After all, Emily had given the go–ahead. Joe, who loved a good show, was curious to see their reaction when they realized the doctor they sought was Emily.
“If you’re so insistent on meeting her, fine. I’ll call her,” Joe said after a moment.
