What we needed was something that could fuse the herbs together while enhancing their medicinal effect. A catalyst.

But was there really something in the world that could do both?

Over the past two weeks, we’d tested all sorts of substances. None of them worked.

Until the moment I asked Perry to use the poison powder.

That flash of inspiration hit me like lightning.

The powder that briefly paralyzed the enemy wolves had been extracted from a local plant–poison reed.

Its toxin was unique. It could absorb and assimilate foreign substances, blending them into itself while amplifying their effects. If anything could bring our formula together, it was this. What better choice could there be?

When I told Dr. Fray, he was stunned.

“Are you sure?”

I gave him a small smile. “I’m confident in poison reed’s properties. I just don’t know how well it will interact with our current mix. That’s why I need everyone’s help. Sorry to cut your rest short. Meet in the lab in thirty minutes.”

“Got it!”

“Absolutely!”

Everyone was fired up. To be part of a breakthrough against the T–Flu–that was the biggest reason they’d

come here.

None of them realized it, but they were already beginning to follow my lead. Whether they admitted it or not, they were convinced by what I’d accomplished in the past few weeks.

A few days later, cheers rang out from the lab.

Just as I predicted, with the addition of poison reed, we successfully replicated the antidote.

Compared to the one from my previous life, this version was even more potent–though it came with a side effect. Wolves who took it experienced dizziness and nausea. It was the poison at work. But we couldn’t remove it without weakening the formula

Once the antidote was complete, the southern wolves–who had been trying to stir up chaos–panicked. The rebels within Stella Pack lost/public support due to their cruelty. The remaining werewolves in Stella Pack finally united, determined to crush them.

According to Alpha Henry, what should’ve been a drawn–out war lasting one or two years might now end in just three months. And with that, the northern defense line would be secured.

Pack.

Classes had already started back up. If I waited any longer, I’d fall behind.

Henry still had to stay behind for a while, but the tide had turned. Victory was only a matter of time. Even so, to prevent any last–ditch attacks from desperate enemies, he’d been pushing me to leave sooner.

Today, I’d packed my things and was ready to go. Coincidentally, Alpha Henry also had to travel to another village.

Before we parted ways, he suddenly pulled me into a hug and whispered in my ear.

“Wait for me.”

For some reason, unease stirred in my chest.

I furrowed my brow and hesitated. “Alpha, I’m still useful. Are you sure you don’t want me to stay a bit longer? I can take a few more days off school.”

“No,” Henry replied, a faint smile flashing across his face.

“The T–Flu was released by the southern wolves. Now that we have the antidote, they’ve lost their chance. That means their retaliation will be even more violent. It’s too dangerous for you here. Go home. Be good.”
