Reborn: The Tyrant's Obsession novel Chapter 168

Chapter 168: Writing the paper again

’’Professor, my low marks have nothing to do with anyone else. It is my lack of preparation that got me here," Ruby walked out of the crowd and stood beside Ella as she spoke to Jenny.

’’Ruby, you are a good student. At this point, you can be honest and rest assured that I won’t let anyone harm you," Although she said that, Jenny did not give Ruby a chance to speak.

"Because I have substantial evidence to prove that Ruby’s low marks were deliberate. The subjects she has scored the lowest in are Ella’s weakest subjects as observed from her entrance results and recent class tests."

A cold light flicked in Jenny’s eyes as she snatched the last answer sheet that Ella held, "You ask me why I haven’t graded your paper? Ask yourself whether the answers you wrote through such unethical means need to be checked by me!"

’Silence’

As the students saw Ella standing there silent in the face of Jenny’s accusations, they burst into gossiping.

At this point, everything made sense to them.

But in Ella’s heart, complicated emotions swirled through. She gazed at Ruby for a heartbeat and the rims of her eyes reddened.

Something akin to helplessness and warmth spread in her chest.

"What you said makes a lot of sense, professor but just your hypothesis isn’t enough to get her expelled. You need evidence," When Kade saw that Ella stood there frozen, he spoke up, giving her a soft nudge that went unnoticed by everyone.

Ella inhaled a deep breath and turned to Kade, "Thank you for bringing that up," She turned to Jenny, "Professor’s accusation is so wild that I got scared into silence."

"You...!" Jenny nearly lashed out at Ella, "At this point, you are still making excuses?"

"Merely asking for evidence of my misconduct. Or do you expect me to accept the blames quietly?" Ella batted her eyelashes, her fingers trembling.

Jenny’s lips twitched, "Your past records are enough to stand as evidence."

With a soft sigh, Jenny waved her hand, "The official letter has been mailed to you. You can go back and start packing," she looked like she was reluctant to waste another breath.

"And what if I insist on staying?" Ella smiled.

"Ella, you are being ridiculous. If you do not back out right now, then I will have no choice but to call security to drag you out?"

A cold glint flashed across Ella’s eyes and her lips tilted up in a crafty smile, "Professor, are you sure we are going down that path?"

Jenny froze. A chill crept down her back as she saw that look in Ella’s eyes. A sick twist gripped her gut.

At this moment—

"What’s going on here?" An authoritative voice cut through the chaos in the crowd.

The students who were gossiping and making wild assumptions froze.

Dean Mo walked towards the center where Jenny, Ella and others stood.

A flicker of panic passed through Jenny’s eyes, "I was just handling student affairs..."

"And this is how you do it?" Dean Mo looked around at the place that was crowded till a distance.

Hearing his restrained anger in his voice, Jenny froze, "I..."

Dean Mo turned to Ella, "I know about the entire affair. Student Yu, do you have anything to say?"

Ella, who had slipped the bag off her shoulder, pushed it back up when she saw Dean Mo’s sudden entrance.
