In the Main Mansion.
"What are you doing?" Old Madam King asked speechlessly, glancing at her husband.
The old man was completely unbothered by his wife’s question as he stood in front of the tall mirror, adjusting his disguise.
"She has seen me before in the university..." The man adjusted his extra-thick fake beard, "I won’t want her to recognize me."
"You... What’s the point of hiding your identity?"
The old man turned to his wife, "If she knows who I am, will she show her true self?"
Old Madam King was both speechless and helpless. "Didn’t you tell me you already met her at the university? Didn’t you see her true self at that time?"
Old Master King stroked his beard as he came to sit beside his wife, "Back then, she was being cornered by one of her teachers but she dealt with the matter cunningly. However..."
"What now?"
"That is not enough to know what kind of a person she is."
"And disguising yourself as an ordinary servant is?" At times, Old Madam King did not understand how her husband’s mind worked.
Old Master King squinted, "To know a person better, you have to know their innermost thoughts. And to know their thoughts, you have to lower their guard."
"You mean..."
"Yes, she might not show her true colors in front of Adrian’s grandparents but she might become careless around a servant."
"You are impossible!" Old Madam King rolled her eyes.
On the other hand, Ella had no idea of the schemes unfolding against her.
In her left hand, she held Riri and in her right hand, she held Lala as she followed the old butler.
"Thank you for waiting for me in front of the Eve mansion," Ella said to the butler, "I think Grandma will be happy to see Riri and Lala."
"The Old Madam misses the little young master and little young lady a lot," The Butler matter-of-factly.
His footsteps halted near the garden area as he reached out to take the two little ones from Ella’s arms.
Ella passed Riri and Lala to the Butler without a second thought.
"Miss Yu, new seasonal flowers have bloomed in the garden. The old madam wants you to admire them before you go to meet her."
"Ah... flowers...?" Ella turned blank for a moment before she nodded, "Sure."
As she watched the old butler leave, Ella blinked in confusion.
Why did the Old lady want her to admire the flowers, even before she greeted her?
Despite her doubts, Ella strolled inside the gardens.
Like the butler said, the seasonal flowers were in bloom and the garden was full of colors.
But the garden was completely empty. She could not see a single gardener in sight as well.
While Ella was admiring the sight, her gaze inadvertently shifted to the lone magnolia tree in the corner.
It stood out from the rest of the elegant and organized flowers in the place, standing tall and different.
And for some reason, it attracted Ella more than anything else in the garden.
Perhaps, it was the fact that Adrian planted it. Or maybe because she knew it had a story behind it and one day, she wanted him to tell her about it.
Suddenly, an old voice cut off the trail of her thoughts—

"Girl, is this how you treat your elders? Didn’t I just ask you a question?" The old man said in a mocking tone before he looked away.
