Reborn: The Tyrant's Obsession novel Chapter 307

Chapter 307: Diary entries

"You! Where did you say that you locked her?" Mrs. Yu glared at the servant in disbelief.

The servant lowered his head as he trembled, "T-The young Miss had gotten wary. Had I waited for another second, I wouldn’t have been able to take her down. So, I pushed her inside the new store room!"

Mrs. Yu’s finger, "You... You... How could you..."

Mr. Yu pulled her into his arms, "Don’t worry, wife. It will be fine!"

Mrs. Yu pushed him away, "Fine? What if she comes across something? We have been cautious all these years but... but what if she sees something there?"

Compared to his panicking wife, Mr. Yu was way calmer, "If our plan succeeds, then so what if Ella knows something? It wouldn’t matter anymore."

"But, she..." Mrs. Yu clutched her chest, "She will never forgive us..."

Mr. Yu rubbed her back, "She was a burden anyway. Her forgiveness doesn’t matter. We have planned and pretended for days just to lure her here. And through her, we have managed to get Mr. King over as well, just as planned. Now is not the time to go weak."

Mrs. Yu frowned, "But... He doesn’t seem like an ordinary man. What if that thing doesn’t work on him?"

"Impossible. A little whiff of that thing can take down a hundred horses. But to weaken Adrian King, we got it turned into candles. There is no way a man can resist it."

Mrs. Yu nodded, a bit assured.

Right then, an earth shattering scream reverberated in the Yu Mansion, making everyone shudder.

Mrs. Yu lost her footing as she staggered, "Esther... My Esther...!"

...

In the isolated store room, Ella was far away from the chaos going on in the mansion.

She sat on the floor, enveloped in the moonlight. In her hand, she held the soft furred diary. Her fingers stroked the bunny ears in a daze.

After a beat, she opened the diary and a messy handwriting greeted her view.

From the looks of it, it was written by a child...

The first few pages contained Esther’s attempt to write her name beautifully, only to scribble it and write it better on the next page.

Yet, after a few pages, she seemed tired so she finally wrote her diary entry, completely skipping her name.

[Dear bunny diary,

My sis gifted you to me... she is the best sister in this world. I am going to keep you close to me forever. Sis told me I can share everything with you, including my deepest secrets. But I don’t have any secrets. Oh, I have one for now. I have brought sis the prettiest doll for her birthday and I will surprise her. I hope she will love it. And yes, I promise to keep you by my side in the future. With you, I will share all my big and small secrets.]

The diary entry did not even cover the entire page. The words were childish and the handwriting was messy.

Yet, every line contained a mention of ’Ella’.

Ella’s eyes reddened and complicated emotions swirled in her chest.

Ella knew that if two lifetimes of blood and betrayal didn’t stand between Esther and her, then she would have rushed to hug her.

Ella would have forgotten everything, forgiven everything that Esther did.

For a moment, Ella hesitated to flip the page. The small diary suddenly seemed heavy in her grip.

[Mr. Bunny,

I finally gave the doll to my sis. She loved it. I am already thinking of what to give her on her next birthday, and her next and nexttttt... Sis has recently moved to my school and I feel so excited going to the same school with her. But there is one thing that I really don’t like, Mr. Bunny... She is getting too close with that chipmunk Maxwell. Hmph, she doesn’t realize he is not even as pretty as her Essie!]

[She is not my sister. I will kill her.]
