Ruby halted in her tracks and looked at Ella from above her shoulder wordlessly.

Ella’s eyes teared up, her fingers trembled a little.

Seeing that she did not say anything, the woman turned to leave.

’’Wait... Congrats on your engagement!" To stop her from leaving, Ella blurted the first thing that came to her mind.

Ruby’s face turned icier at her words. Without sparing a word at Ella, she turned around and left.

Looking at her retreating back, a hint of sadness flickered in her eyes.

In her previous life, Ruby was the only true friend that she had. But when time came, Ella casted her aside just like that.

"Second Master, you should have your dinner and get some rest. I will manage the rest of the things in the main mansion,’’ Secretary Ji was as diligent as ever.

Adrian leaned back on the couch, a lazy glint flickered in his eyes as he aimlessly gazed at the empty living room.

His gaze inadvertently shifted to the couch, the television, the kitchen in the distance, the stairs, the dining table and even the puppy in Ji Yan’s hand.

And then, Adrian’s face chilled by a few degrees.

Ji Yan shivered a little. This... Clearing his throat, he opened his mouth, ’’Second master, Miss Yu must be missing you too.’’

Adrian quietly glanced at the phone that was lying idly on the coffee table, its screen dark and his eyes darkened.

Ji Yan gritted his teeth. Miss Yu, ah, Miss Yu, it hasn’t been hours since you left but you are acting like you have forgotten all about the second master ah! Can’t you send him a single text to appease him at least?

Looking at the man who was sitting like a ’looking calm, stirring storm’ devil king, Ji Yan dabbed his flowery handkerchief on his sweaty forehead nervously, ’’That... She had quite a long day so she is probably resting.’’

At this moment, the head servant, Bertha also walked up to them, ’’Second Master, the dinner is ready. Shall I get it served?"

Adrian’s brows tugged together. He glanced at the empty chair on the dining table right beside the head chair, ’’Did she eat?"

Bertha hesitated. Under Ji Yan’s forceful ’save the situation’ gaze, she shook her head slowly, ’’Miss Yu said that she will eat in the dorms.’’

The temperature plummeted like a stock market crash.

Ji Yan closed his eyes.

’’But Miss Yu said it was because of the university rules. If she gets late, she wouldn’t be getting entry so she was in a rush to leave,’’ Bertha hurriedly added to save the situation.
