"Are you sure?"
Gong Chen looked deeply into Lin Zhiyi’s eyes.
"Yes, what’s wrong?" Lin Zhiyi asked, puzzled.
"I don’t think I need any supplements."
"Supplements for what?"
Lin Zhiyi looked at Gong Chen with confusion.
Gong Chen leaned slightly on the table, approaching Lin Zhiyi.
"This is roasted lamb..." he whispered in a voice only the two of them could hear.
"Lamb...can you even eat that part?" 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
The testicles!
Lin Zhiyi’s eyes widened. She bit her lip and disappointedly put down the menu, "Did you already guess that I haven’t eaten here before?"
"No."
Who would believe that!
Lin Zhiyi gritted her teeth and held her forehead, wishing she could dig a hole and hide.
Gong Chen chuckled softly.
He closed the two menus and expertly ordered the meal from the waiting server beside them.
The dishes were soon served.
Lin Zhiyi looked at the food in front of her but didn’t pick up her chopsticks.
Gong Chen took a sip of water and said calmly, "There’s nothing like what you were thinking, just simple food to boost your energy."
Upon hearing that there was nothing special, Lin Zhiyi picked up her knife and fork to start eating.
But then she paused, thinking something was amiss.
"Why do I need to boost my energy?"
"You’ll know soon." Gong Chen said, no longer speaking as he lowered his head to eat.
Lin Zhiyi found him a bit odd.
Until after their meal, they went to the martial arts school.
...
"Zhiyi, do you really want to learn?"
Gong Chen stood at the entrance of the venue, confirming again.
Lin Zhiyi took a deep breath and nodded vigorously, "Yes."
"Go in."
The two took off their shoes and stepped onto the mat.
Gong Chen walked while taking off his jacket and casually unbuttoned his shirt.
Lin Zhiyi naively asked, "Then what?"
Gong Chen lifted his gaze.
The next second.
"Ah!"
Lin Zhiyi had always thought over-the-shoulder throws were unrealistic, until Gong Chen almost tossed her over directly.
She could clearly feel he wasn’t using much force.
Fortunately, he didn’t actually want to throw her, and he ended up embracing her and falling onto the ground together.
Gong Chen didn’t even take a breath, "Firstly, if you’re not 100% sure, never take your eyes off your opponent for even a second."
"Okay."
Lin Zhiyi nodded, getting up from the ground.
But as soon as she steadied herself, Gong Chen grabbed her from behind and rolled them over again.
He pinned her down, holding her wrists above her head with one hand, while slightly bending one leg to pin her knees immobile.
Lin Zhiyi was like a lamb to the slaughter, at his mercy.
His breath fell, eyes deep under the ceiling lights, as if wanting to imprint her into his gaze.
"Secondly, never present your back to an enemy, otherwise..."
He paused, not continuing.
"Otherwise what?"
Lin Zhiyi continued to struggle, her lips parted slightly, breathing uneven.
His other hand rested on her waist, voice husky, "Otherwise they can do whatever they want."
"Mmm..."
A fierce breath invaded her chaotic breathing, mixed with his dangerous and domineering desire.
Even though no one was around, it was still a public place.
He kissed her for a while before releasing her.
This time Lin Zhiyi learned, facing him and retreating to escape.
"Third Young Master, are you doing this on purpose? I’m seriously wanting to learn, not to...uh."
Before she could see his movements, she was pinned onto the mat again.
Gong Chen didn’t answer, instead, he released her leg and helped her sit upright.
Then, he guided her hand to his chest, sliding it downward, past the open buttons and into his shirt.
It traveled around his waist to his lower back.
There seemed to be something there.
Last time Lin Zhiyi helped him with a fever patch, she noticed it.
Gong Chen moved her hand, seemingly tearing skin.
She was frightened into a daze.
Gong Chen, however, pulled out an ultrathin knife like a leaf from beneath his skin, with a sealant on its surface.
"What is this?"
"Artificial skin, a survival knife. No one else knows."
Gong Chen placed the knife into Lin Zhiyi’s hand.
She couldn’t even feel its weight, asked surprised, "Why are you telling me?"
Gong Chen held her hand firmly around the knife, "The last move, if someone uses me to threaten you...kill me and run."
"..."
Upon hearing this, Lin Zhiyi’s hands trembled.
She wanted to let go of the knife, but Gong Chen held her hand tightly, as if putting life and death in her palm.
His other hand lifted her face.
"Zhiyi, I only want you to live, nothing else matters to me. You must remember, your biggest leverage is me."
"You...you want me to sell you out to save my life? Even kill you?"
"Yes. That’s what survival means. Chen Jin will handle the aftermath, it won’t implicate you or Xingxing," Gong Chen whispered.
"I don’t want to...no...mm..."
Gong Chen’s kiss descended.
"Listen to me."
This was indeed the kind of solution Gong Chen, always rational, would think of.
But...
"I really dislike you, you always arrange things for me like this."
"Mmm mmm. At least it’s not hate."
He faintly smiled.
