Just as Sebastian was about to act, Kaitlyn suddenly stepped before him.

With a few quick movements, she grabbed Heather's longsword with her fingers. Kaitlyn then channeled her energy, and the sword trembled violently.

Heather cried out in pain and quickly released her sword.

Everyone was shocked to see Kaitlyn stepping in for Sebastian. Plus, this wasn't her first time doing something like this. Was there something going on between them?

He was also surprised. She had wanted to kill him before, but why was she saving him now?

He thought, "Is she trying to get me to investigate the assassin who took advantage of her? It seems that way."

"Ms. Gardner, why did you stop me?" Heather demanded.

"Both of you have your sides to the story. Right now, it's hard to tell who's telling the truth. If you kill him now, others will just think you're trying to cover up something," Kaitlyn said.

"I didn't," Heather quickly denied. "He has repeatedly insulted me and tried to tarnish my reputation. How could I possibly let him get away with that?"

Kaitlyn said, "Everyone here knows he's your fiancé. You two were just engaged a few days ago. Now, you're accusing him of cheating on his assessment and want to kill him? It doesn't add up."

Heather retorted, "Yes. I was forced into the engagement but never expected him to cheat on the assessment. Such behavior is despicable, and I will never marry someone so low.

"That's why I exposed him. But now he's stubbornly refusing to admit his wrongs and is even trying to tarnish my reputation. Doesn't someone like him deserve to be executed?"

"It's just an empty accusation. Do you have any proof that he cheated?" Kaitlyn countered.

"If he hadn't cheated, how could he ring the Netherworld Bell seven times? This is an impossible feat," Heather argued.

Kaitlyn responded, "But you only rang three times previously. Two days later, you ring five times. Can I also claim that you cheated?"

"I didn't cheat. If you don't believe me, we can do another assessment right now," Heather replied confidently.
