Rosewood Manor.
“Mr. Harrison Lancaster, Lauren would like to see you.”
Logan entered the room, his expression a touch uneasy as he made the announcement.
Harrison’s attention, however, was fixed on his phone. A tiny red dot crept slowly across the screen—Anastasia’s location.
Shouldn’t she be in class at the Global Harmony Medical Institute right now? Why had she gone to Kingsbridge University instead? Was something wrong? Why hadn’t she told him anything?
His dark brows knit together, distracted. The girl’s shadow consumed his thoughts, leaving him barely aware of what Logan was saying.
Without looking up, Harrison replied coolly, “No.”
“But she says… she can cure Mr. Harrison Lancaster’s illness.”
Harrison’s fingers, drumming on the desk, froze mid-tap. He looked up suddenly, his gaze sharp and cold. “She can cure me?”
For a moment, the force of Harrison’s presence was enough to make Logan lower his head in deference. “That’s what she said, sir.”
Harrison’s eyes were as deep and cold as a winter lake, his aura dangerous and commanding—enough to make anyone’s heart pound with unease.
“Let her in,” he said at last.
Logan nodded quickly and left to fetch Lauren.
Soon, Lauren was brought in.
“Mr. Lancaster.” She tried her best to appear calm and composed, but it didn’t take long for her to realize she’d overestimated herself—and underestimated Harrison. The man’s presence was overwhelming, a wall of pressure she couldn’t hope to withstand.
Just one look from him, and sweat broke out on her forehead, as if some deadly predator had her in its sights. She stood rooted to the spot, her body rigid.
