Revenge Wears My Ring novel Chapter 316

Gwyneth nodded quietly, asking no further questions as she followed Bennett out of the car.

He led her confidently through the hushed corridors, his hand warm and steady in hers. Without hesitation, he guided her straight to the most heavily guarded VIP room at the end of the hall.

Bennett pushed open the door, and the scene inside unfolded before them.

Yale was half-reclined on the hospital bed, looking far older and thinner than he had just three months ago. His eyes were clouded, his skin pale, yet oddly, there were no tubes attached to him, and it seemed he still had some freedom of movement.

A muted television screen on the wall replayed footage from the earlier press conference. Julian’s anguished close-up filled the room with a sharp, uncomfortable light.

At the sound of the door opening, Yale slowly turned his head. Seeing Bennett and Gwyneth enter side by side, he showed little surprise, as if he had expected this all along. His voice was eerily calm.

“You’re here?”

Bennett ignored Yale’s affected composure and got straight to the point, his tone cold as steel. “If you already knew we’d come, let’s not waste time. Hand over my mother’s last keepsake.”

“The last one?!”

The calm on Yale’s face shattered instantly. His eyes widened, and his voice rose in shock and a flicker of panic. “You—you found the others?!”

He’d thought his deepest secret was safe, but now it was suddenly exposed, leaving him rattled and defenseless.

Bennett took a step closer, his gaze sharp and merciless, words cutting to the bone. “You really thought you’d covered your tracks? The moment you split those things up and hid them, turning them into bargaining chips, you set all this in motion.”

A bitter, icy smile played at his lips. “And as for how I knew… Your so-called ‘loyal’ butler has been working for me for years. And your worthless son, Julian? He couldn’t wait for me to strip you of every last card, just so he could finally take full control of Locke Group. Did you really expect him to keep your secrets?”

The words fell like a final hammer blow, shattering the last fragile shield Yale had wrapped around himself. He realized that not only had his most trusted confidant betrayed him long ago, but even his own son had played a part in his ruin.

With a strangled gasp, Yale’s eyes bulged and his chest heaved. Blood suddenly spilled from his lips, splattering across the pristine hospital gown and sheets.
