Chapter 310

Lucas tilted his head back and said, “Hard to believe, right? Emily’s always been so bold and full of life-why would someone like her buy a grave for herself while she’s still alive? And why buy so many?”

That was the question that had been bothering him for days as he waited here, and he still couldn’t figure it out.

Vincent was still reeling from the shock that Emily had bought a grave for herself. He stared blankly at the rundown, bare- bones cemetery in front of him.

For some reason, he suddenly remembered the words Emily had said to him the first time they met after she came back from St. Gabriel Reform Academy.

She’d said, “Do you even know what I’ve been through these past two years?”

Suddenly, Vincent felt his chest tighten, an inexplicable sense of panic rising inside him. He turned to Lucas and asked, “What kind of place is St. Gabriel Reform Academy?”

Without even looking up, Lucas replied, “What else could it be? It’s a private juvie.”

Big-name families didn’t want their kids to get in trouble with the law, so places like St. Gabriel Reform Academy existed for that exact reason. If a family failed to keep their kids in line, the academy would do it for them.

After at least two years inside, the kids came out as those so-called ‘good kids’-the kind who always put the family’s interests first and did whatever they were told.

That place was Lydia’s idea. She said two years wasn’t a big deal, and sending Emily there would help her cool off. It was supposed to be the perfect solution for her.

Lucas’s heart skipped a beat, as if a sudden realization hit him, his hand trembling as he held the cigarette.

He thought, ‘I was born and raised in Cloudridge, growing up among the city’s elite, but I have never heard of a place like that before.

‘How on earth did Lydia know about it? Emily’s transformation-all of it happened after she came back from St. Gabriel Reform Academy.’

those two years. But he couldn’t help but feel that whatever he found out would only bring him pain and regret.

Emily had heard from one of the staff that Lucas had been hanging around the cemetery for days, but she didn’t pay it any

mind.

She’d been out with Austin for the past few days, just unwinding and waiting for Lydia to finally show her true colors.

Her patience paid off-within a week, Lydia finally made a move.
