Chapter 337
Austin really was a pro. In less than two days, he had everything lined up and had Emily walk into the meeting with a brand- new project in hand.
To the shareholders, all those internal power shifts in Bennett Group meant nothing. The only thing they cared about was how much dividend they’d get each year.
So when Emily showed up with a project with enough profit to tempt anyone and asked for a spot in the company, almost no one stood in her way. In fact, she even scored a VP title on the spot.
Normally, even if Emily managed to get into the company, there was no way she’d get to be a VP right off the bat.
She and Andrew struck a deal: if her project didn’t bring in enough profit for the company, she’d resign from the VP position of her own accord and never come back.
The VP title Andrew gave her might have sounded impressive, but in reality, she didn’t have any real authority at all. And just like that, using the method Austin taught her, Emily joined the company with ease.
When the news reached the Bennett Family, Gale blew his top. “I know exactly what that bastard’s capable of. This is ridiculous!”
Andrew quickly tried to calm him down. As for what they talked about in the study afterward, no one knew.
Lydia was absolutely fuming when she heard about Emily joining the company as a VP. In her mind, Emily was nothing but a rat in the gutter, someone who could only dream of her glamorous life.
She thought, ‘Emily is supposed to be the one I keep under my heel forever! Why did she get to have more shares than me, and even land a VP spot in the company?’
Lydia was so mad that she wanted to smash everything within reach, but with Emma right there, she had to keep up her sweet, gentle act, so she forced herself to hold it in.
But the more she held it in, the angrier she got. Finally, she claimed she wasn’t feeling well and went straight back to her
room.
walk in on me like that.”
Lydia wasn’t about to buy his story. She shot a suspicious glance at the bed, but didn’t spot anything unusual.

Laicas didn’t seem to notice her reaction and kept talking. “I messed up before. You’re my real sister, but I said a lot of awful things to you just because I only listened to Emily’s side of the story.
“Vincent already gave me a piece of his mind, and I’ve thought it over. We’ve gotten along so well all these years. How could 1 let something so trivial mess up what we have? Lydia, can you forgive me?”
