Eugene got to his destination eventually by following the navigation device. He got out of the car and entered the place. Yet, a familiar silhouette caught his eye.

“Jackie?”

Jacklyn sensed that someone was watching her intently from behind. She glanced over her shoulder and met Eugene’s eyes.

She could not help wondering what he was doing there.

Eugene swiftly adjusted his expression and walked over to Jacklyn. He tried to appear calm as he placed his arm around her shoulders.

“Jackie, I was looking for you everywhere. It turned out you were here!”

Jacklyn stiffened. She wiped off the sweat on her forehead. Isn’t it time for your morning meetings at work? Shouldn’t you be at the office? Also, how did you find out I was here?”

She furrowed her brows.

Eugene pursed his lips. He explained, “I heard it from Mrs. Crawford. She said you went out early in the morning for your yoga lesson. I canceled my morning meetings since I was worried about you being alone while you were out and about.”

Jacklyn lifted her head slightly. An enigmatic smile played across her lips.

She had not mentioned to anyone about her joining these yoga classes. Naturally, she had not told any of their maids about it, either.

“Jackie, it seems like the participants of this yoga class are mostly married couples. Why did you suddenly decide to join this class?”

Jacklyn met his curious gaze and smiled softly. “I just wanted to give it a try first. I’ll be able to pick things up faster if I happen to get pregnant later on and wish to take these classes.”

Eugene felt a little guilty after hearing her explanation. Recently, he had been spending a lot of time keeping Penelope’s company that he inadvertently neglected Jacklyn.

While he was having an affair with Penelope, Jacklyn was still making plans and considering what was best for their family. She even started considering matters relating to pregnancy.

Eugene had an apologetic look on his face as he held Jacklyn’s hand. “I’m sorry, Jackie. I haven’t spent enough time with you lately. I’ll stay and attend the class with you today.”

Jacklyn did not refuse his offer. Still, she found it repulsive as she took in the look of remorse on Eugene’s face.

Just then, she heard the sound of a ringtone playing.

Eugene pulled his phone out and pressed the reject button right away. He looked flustered as he glanced at Jacklyn.

However, his phone started ringing yet again.

Jacklyn got up and said frigidly, “You should take the call outside. We shouldn’t disturb others while they’re practicing.”

Eugene would not have to act so secretively if it was a call from one of the members of their company’s board of directors. It seemed like it was Penelope again.

Jacklyn scoffed.

Eugene stepped outside and took the call.

“Gene, where are you? The class has started. It’s really tiring for me to do these poses alone,” Penelope’s sweet, chirpy voice came down the line.

Eugene felt rather annoyed as he listened to Penelope urging him to hurry and join her. “I’m coming.”

He hung up right after saying that.

Eugene felt a little uncomfortable with Penelope clinging to him like that. Still, he suppressed his displeasure for the sake of the baby.

“Mr. Lloyd is clearly someone of elite background and status. You’re not like the rest of us, who have to apply for the day off just to join this yoga class. Ms. Stinson said you owned a company?”

“Ms. Stinson, you’re really lucky. Not only is your fiancé handsome, but he also treats you so well. We should have

It was getting slightly rowdy as everyone shared a comment or remark now and then.

On the other hand, all Eugene could think about was Jackly. He told her that he was stepping outside to take a phone call. He was worried that Jacklyn might start suspecting things if he were to stay out for too long.

“Gene, what were you thinking so intently about? Hurry and hold my hands!”

Eugene frowned slightly and got to his feet. “I need to make a phone call. Ms. Levy, please help me watch over her.

He exited the room.

Shortly afterward, he returned to Jacklyn’s side. Eugene breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the calm, unsuspecting look on her face.

Meanwhile, Jacklyn noticed Eugene was already drenched in sweat since he had to run around. She felt nothing but disdain for him.

Jacklyn smiled enigmatically. “Gene, why are you sweating so much? Why do you look so nervous? Could it be that there’s someone you know here who requires your attention?”
