Vivian staggered back two steps before she was able to stop herself. Eyes wide, she stared at Marcelo in disbelief, her mind a confused mess.
"I... I..."
After a long time, she finally managed a weak, unconvincing smile. "I know…The other day, I heard Luke call her Mrs. King."
Uttering these words was exceptionally challenging for her.
Vivian couldn't accept the fact that another woman had already become Marcelo’s wife, a position she had longed for and fantasized about for years!
She clasped her hands in front of her. When she looked at him again, she was calm, the true picture of composure.
However, one look at her white, tightly clenched fingers made it clear she was anything but.
"Marcelo, you...When did you get together with her? Why didn't I hear anything of it?Renee Hudson has been famous since she was a child. Why didn't you have feelings for her..."
"I don’t need to explain anything about my marriage to you.Renee and I are married and I intend to be with her for the rest of my life."Marcelo was a little more patient with Vivian than he was with others, but he could only answer one question patiently.
"Marcelo, is it because of Renee that you kind of pushed me away. She doesn't want you to hang out with me, does she?"Vivian chose her words carefully.
"It’s not because of her. It’s because of me.I only want to hang out with my wife.”Marcelo suddenly recalled Renee’s attitude, so he added, "Remember to take a coat along the next time you go out.I will not lend out my coat again.”
He didn't add anything to the abrupt sentence, but anyone with a functioning brain could discern what he truly meant.
Upon hearing this,Vivian’s complexion grew visibly pale. She hung her head with a sense of guilt and quietly replied, "I understand...We have known each other since childhood, and throughout the years, you have always been there to take care of me. I'm sorry I didn't anticipate that Renee would...mind it so much."
She almost said that Renee was so narrow-minded and annoying.
Seeing that Vivian had nothing else to say, Marcelo nodded at her and moved towards Renee’s direction.
While sitting on the sofa,Renee started feeling a little sleepy. She couldn't help but squint and let out a gentle yawn, like a content cat basking in the warmth of the sun.
When she opened her eyes again, there was a wheelchair in front of her.
"Are you sleepy? It's just seven o'clock." Marcelo frowned slightly, thinking that she was not feeling well.
"Humph. Are you saying you don't have any clue why I would be so sleepy?"
Since they were in public,Renee had no choice but to restrain her unhappiness.
Marcelo looked down and chuckled.
