Chapter 1001

Victoria said, “Maybe… she’s still upset about what happened last time.”

Johanna listened to their conversation in silence. But the longer she listened, the more

Victoria sounded pretentious.

Strange… Why hadn’t she noticed it before?

As Sharon, Julliard, and Thomas walked away, Julliard seized the chance to change the subject. With a light smile, he said, “Thomas, you seem to know Johanna pretty well?”

Thomas replied coolly, “Not that well.’

“Oh? But I’ve seen you two meeting often back in Amstern City.”

Thomas cast him a glance, his eyes carrying an inscrutable gleam.

“Julliard, you’re such a busy man, yet you still have the time to keep an eye on others especially Johanna. Are you… interested in her?”

Julliard smiled faintly, unbothered by the jab.

“I’m just curious about Johanna. After all, Sharon and Jamie are practically at war, yet Johanna seems to take an interest in Sharon’s circle. Makes me wonder what’s going through her mind. Thomas, you should be careful. Don’t say anything you shouldn’t, and don’t let her trick you into talking. Who knows, she might be using her beauty to dig up

information for Jamie and Victoria.”

At that, Sharon’s expression shifted slightly.

She trusted Thomas, but not completely. There was always a sliver of doubt, and Julliard’s

words weren’t entirely baseless. 4

Thomas, of course, caught the provocation laced in Julliard’s tone. He gave a faint, mocking

smile.

“A beauty trap? Beautiful, you say? Funny, I must’ve missed that part. Julliard, your standards are… quite generous. You seem to call any woman a beauty.

“If I had to spend the night with someone like her, I’d probably wake up screaming in

terror.1

who’s

“From the moment we sat down, you haven’t stopped bringing up Johanna. Tell me, really the one interested in her? If you’re that curious, why don’t I send you her number?

You can ask her yourself.” 1

Julliard and Sharon were both rendered speechless.

Thomas’s tongue was poisonous as ever.

Julliard’s face tightened, the color draining as Thomas’s words neatly turned the tables on him. But he quickly smoothed over his irritation.

It didn’t matter. As long as Sharon began to doubt Thomas, that was enough for now. He’d

deal with Thomas after he was done with Jamie. 1

Unnoticed, Julliard’s gaze flicked briefly toward Johanna’s direction. A cold glint flashed in his eyes before it vanished. ↑

For the next three days, Thomas stuck to Sharon like a shadow, playing the third wheel and ruining every chance Julliard had to be alone with her.

Julliard seethed inwardly but could do nothing about it. Three days later, he finally left.

Sharon, Wendy, and Thomas accompanied him to the airport to see him off.

Just after he departed, Sharon’s phone rang. The caller was Rick.

“Sharon, today’s the final day of your bet with Jamie. You haven’t forgotten, have you?”

“I haven’t,” Sharon replied.
