Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 356

Chapter 356

Chapter 356

Sharon knew without a shred of doubt that Matty wasn’t the kind of kid to throw a punch for no reason.

Her gaze shifted, falling quietly on Bob, who stood stiff in the corner.

“Bob, why don’t you tell everyone… what exactly started this fight?”

Bob opened his mouth but froze the moment his eyes met Matty’s. His head dropped, and not a single word came out. Mrs. Cosgrove rushed in, quickly stepping between them. “Don’t you dare try to threaten my son!” she snapped.

Carter felt something was off. He said, “Why don’t we try rolling the footage back a little further?”

Sharon’s eyes flicked toward the teachers. “There is no more footage. This is all they’ve provided.”

The teachers shifted uncomfortably. Their faces turned pale.

They had seen how everything started. But they hadn’t dared to show it. Instead, they only clipped this tiny piece.

If… if Carter found out his son was being targeted at school, this wasn’t something the kindergarten could afford to cover up.

Xavier caught the change in their expressions instantly.

The corner of his mouth lifted into a cold, razor-thin smile. “So… you’re afraid of offending Carter. But not afraid of offending

“You thought you’d sacrifice my son… make him the scapegoat. Is that how you educate children around here? Bow to the powerful. Step on the weak. Seems like this place needs a serious change of staff.”

He pulled out his phone and dialed.

“Get me the full surveillance footage from my son’s kindergarten… Yes. And another thing-fire every teacher and the principal.

The color drained from the principal’s and teachers’ faces. Panic spread across them like a ripple.

But as they glanced at Carter standing silently nearby, their spines straightened again. Almost like they believed… they had nothing to fear.

Xavier’s eyes narrowed, a hint of amusement flickering behind the cold. “You seem awfully calm. What is it? Think your backer can save you?”

His gaze floated lazily over to Carter.

Carter caught the look, his brow tightening just slightly, but he said nothing.

Roughly five minutes later, Xavier’s phone vibrated. The complete surveillance file had arrived.

Without saying a word, he tapped play.

The screen lit up, crystal clear with sound.

Even the conversations between Theo and Matty came through, every word crisp.

When Theo said, “Nobody wants to talk to you anymore,” the air in the room fell dead silent.

Sharon suddenly understood why Matty hadn’t come to her place these past few days.

He was being bullied in this kindergarten.

A chill surged through her chest. No matter how she turned it over in her head, she never imagined something like this– childhood bullying-would play out in a place like this.

Her eyes swung sharply toward Carter, colder than they had ever been.

Carter instinctively opened his mouth. “I… I didn’t tell anyone to-”

Smack!

A crisp, clean slap rang through the room.

Sharon’s hand was still in the air. Her voice shook, not with fear, but with fury. “Carter, you are despicable.”

No one moved. No one spoke.

Weren’t they divorced? Wasn’t Sharon the one with no status in the Biggs family? Then why-why did she dare slap Carter in front of everyone like this?

Even Mrs. Cosgrove stood frozen, stunned speechless.

And then-almost like a cue-the principal and teachers’ phones started ringing, one after another.

They scrambled to answer, but the moment they pressed the call through-

“You’re fired.”

That was all the voice on the other end said.

No explanation. No chance to plead.

The line went dead.
