Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 375

Chapter 375

Someone whispered, “Honestly, from the way she talks, the way she carries herself… she doesn’t look like someone who barely graduated middle school. Are you sure they got that right?”

“Should be right,” another murmured. “I heard she used to be Carter Biggs’s ex-wife. She doesn’t come from a powerful background, she has no connections… and not even much of an education.”

“But still… you can’t fake class. She doesn’t look like someone who’s never seen the world.”

“Eh… she’s probably faking it.”

The murmurs spread, buzzing beneath the surface like gnats-some skeptical, some dismissive, some simply curious.

Gregory’s eyes flickered with something darker. “So, you’re saying… you still refuse to admit you cheated?”

Sharon stood there, her chin lifted, her gaze steady under the weight of every eye in the room. “That’s right. I don’t admit it.”

Offstage, Kelly’s right eyelid twitched the moment she noticed Nate fiddling with his phone. A wave of unease stirred in her

chest. (1)

She leaned in and whispered, “Nate… what are you doing?”

Nate didn’t even look up. “Livestreaming. Gotta let Sharon’s fans see how embarrassing she really is.”

Kelly frowned, actually meaning it this time. “Maybe don’t. When Carter gets off that phone and sees this, he’s gonna get upset at you again.”

She wasn’t pretending anymore-this was genuine advice. Every time Nate started a livestream thinking he’d catch Sharon slipping, it backfired without fail.

Nate grinned, completely undeterred. “It’s fine. My dad and Carter always tell me to help give Sharon publicity. Well, this counts, doesn’t it?” He tapped at the screen. “I mean, the judges gave her all those perfect scores-who would’ve guessed she was cheating? Her losing face isn’t my fault.”

Kelly opened her mouth to protest, but before she could, Gregory’s voice boomed through the microphone, echoing across the

hall.

A rapid string of Spanish spilled from his mouth.

Several people in the audience who understood Spanish froze-stunned-before laughter started breaking out, rippling through the crowd.

Madeline, sitting proudly in her seat, didn’t understand a word. She frowned, glancing around. “What’s he saying? Why’s everyone laughing?”

Suppressing her own grin, Kelly leaned over to translate. “He said… ‘I believe there’s no one here today with a lower level of education than Miss McKinzie. Of course… excluding the kindergarten kids.””

Madeline blinked. Then a sharp smile spread across her face, and she let out a dry chuckle. “Well, well…”

She turned to Kelly, her gaze sharpening, as if seeing her for the first time. “Didn’t expect you to be this impressive. You speak Spanish too?”

Feeling Madeline’s subtle shift in attitude, Kelly lowered her lashes, masking the flicker of triumph behind them. She responded softly, “You flatter me.”

Nate jumped at the chance to pile on. “Oh, Madeline, you have no idea. Kelly doesn’t just speak Spanish. She’s fluent in Mandarin, German, Korean, and Japanese too, pretty much every major language in the world, and even a few niche ones.”

Madeline’s eyes flickered with interest, something calculating stirring beneath the surface.

For a long time, she’d hoped Carter would marry someone through a proper business alliance-a match that could elevate the Biggs family’s standing. But in the end, he married someone like Sharon. No background. No resources. Nothing.

Now, though… the Biggs family didn’t really need a business marriage anymore. Their foundation was stable.

And while there were plenty of socialite daughters lining up to marry a man like Carter-even as a second wife-there was always the question: would they treat Theo well? Would Theo even accept them?

But Kelly… Theo clearly liked her. And she, in turn, was good with him.

Madeline’s lips curved, mind already shifting.

Maybe… letting Carter marry Kelly wouldn’t be such a bad idea.
