Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 429

Chapter 429

“Okay.”

Sharon arrived at the restaurant twenty minutes early.

But to her surprise, Julliard was already there, waiting.

She walked over. “When did you get here?”

Julliard’s deep gaze fell on her face. With a gentle smile, he stood and pulled out the chair for her.

“Not long ago.”

After placing their orders, Sharon couldn’t hold back any longer. “Julliard, about John…”

The moment she brought it up, Julliard’s expression darkened slightly with concern.

He gave a faint nod. “Yes… Carter did it.”

Sharon didn’t show the slightest trace of surprise.

Julliard poured her a glass of water and said, “I used a business collaboration as a pretext to meet with him today. From what I gathered, he wants you to give up the studio. And he hasn’t let go of the idea of having you compose for Kelly.”

Sharon let out a cold laugh. “And if I refuse? After targeting John and Wendy, what does he plan to do to me next?”

Julliard’s tone turned grave. “Sharon, Carter will stop at nothing when it comes to Kelly. It’s just a studio. While your wings haven’t fully spread, don’t confront him head-on.”

Sharon tightened her grip on the glass in her hand.

She gave a bitter smile. “I don’t even dare to use the name ‘Star’ lightly… and now he wants me to hype it up just to promote his precious muse?”

At that moment, her phone rang.

Wendy’s panicked voice spilled through the line.

“Carter, that shameless bastard-he bribed the testing facility! They just released the paternity results online… It’s been confirmed. They’re biologically related!”

Sharon felt as if her heart had plunged into a bottomless abyss.

The glass slipped from her hand and shattered against the floor with a crisp, piercing crack.

She closed her eyes and forced down the rising storm within.

“I understand,” she said calmly, her voice flat and emotionless-so calm it made Wendy feel inexplicably uneasy.

“Sharon, are… are you okay?”

“I’m fine,” Sharon replied in a quiet, distant tone. “I’ll handle it.”

Before Wendy could say more, Sharon ended the call.

Julliard, alarmed by how pale she looked, leaned in. “Sharon, what happened?”

Sharon let out a soft, bitter laugh. “You were right. Carter really is capable of anything for Kelly.”

Her face was far too pale, which made the darkness and resolve in her eyes all the more striking.

For some reason, a strange and indescribable emotion rose in Julliard’s chest.

“Sharon, don’t do anything rash.”

“I won’t,” she said with a faint smile, her expression already composed again. “I’m going to speak to Carter tomorrow.”

Julliard still looked uneasy. “What time? I’ll go with you.”

Sharon didn’t object. “Once I confirm with him, I’ll let you know.”

The rest of the meal passed quietly.

She didn’t bring up Carter again, nor did she mention John.

It was the calm before the storm.

Later that night, Sharon called Carter.

He picked up after just a few rings.

“Changed your mind?” His deep, calm voice was unhurried, like he’d been expecting her call.

Sharon’s tone was icy. “How could I not figure out your motives after everything you’ve done for Kelly’s future?”

“Good that you understand,” he replied.
