Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 431

Chapter 431

Sharon’s expression remained calm and indifferent. “Carter was the one who told me to come.”

Peggy scoffed, her smile full of condescension, like she was watching a clown perform.

“Apologies, Sharon. I haven’t received any notice from Mr. Biggs.”

With that, she turned to the nearby security guards and ordered, “Well? What are you waiting for? Escort this irrelevant woman

out.”

At her command, the two guards approached Sharon with intimidating force.

Sharon shot Peggy a frosty glance. “Arrogance and personal bias are hardly professional qualities for a CEO’s secretary. Peggy, you’ll pay the price for your actions today.”

Peggy curled her lips into a dismissive smirk, clearly unmoved.

Sharon didn’t bother saying more. She turned to leave.

Peggy had been with Biggs Group for years, rising from an ordinary secretary to the CEO’s personal assistant. Her professional competence was undeniable, but she had always despised Sharon.

Like Nate, Peggy believed Sharon was utterly undeserving of Carter. She treated her with icy disdain, never once offering a shred

of respect.

Just then, a soft voice drifted in from the doorway.

“What’s going on here?”

Peggy turned, and the frost on her face instantly melted away.

With a smile of polite warmth, she greeted, “Kelly, are you here to see Mr. Biggs?”

“Yes,” Kelly replied with a gentle nod. “Carter asked me to stop by. What’s happening here?”

Peggy gave Sharon a disdainful glance. “Mr. Biggs made it clear he didn’t want to see Sharon. Last time she showed up here uninvited, the front desk and security nearly got fired. She’s here again today to cause trouble, so I had no choice but to ask her

to leave.”

Nate, standing nearby, let out a sneering laugh. “If someone’s that shameless, why not just put up a sign at the door? ‘No Entry for Sharon and Dogs.””

“Nate!” Kelly quickly cut him off. “Don’t say things like that.”

He cast Sharon a look of mocking disdain. “Relax, I was only joking.”

Kelly glanced at Sharon and sighed softly. Then she turned to Peggy. “I do know Sharon. Let’s give her a bit of dignity and let her leave on her own.”

Peggy hesitated. “But Mr. Biggs specifically instructed…” 1

“It’s alright,” Kelly said with a soft smile. “I’ll explain everything to Carter. He won’t blame you.”

Hearing that, Peggy’s expression finally relaxed.

“Alright, we’ll do as Kelly says,” she said, then turned to the guards. “You’re dismissed.”

The two guards stepped away.

Nate gave Sharon a sidelong glance and sneered, “Sharon, Kelly just saved your hide. Aren’t you even going to say thank you?”

Sharon responded with a faint smile. “Nate, aren’t you currently out on bail? If you slip up again, no matter how skilled your lawyer is, I doubt even he’ll be able to keep you out of jail. Instead of wasting time loitering here with Kelly, maybe you should be thinking about how to offer us a satisfactory settlement and earn our forgiveness.”

Nate’s face twisted with fury. “Sharon, you-

“Enough, Nate,” Kelly interjected, tugging on his arm. “Carter is still waiting. Let’s go.”

Only then did Nate withdraw his glare, huffing coldly.

Once inside the elevator, the two began chatting about STAR.

Nate remarked, “Carter really is something. He even managed to get STAR, the most elusive and in-demand figure in the industry, to work for you. And you keep saying he’s changed. Honestly, I think he’s treating you better than ever.”
