Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 472

Chapter 472

When Madeline learned of the incident, she showed no sympathy. Instead, she scolded Sharon for making a fuss over nothing.

Later, Carter tracked down the person who had “accidentally” pushed Sharon into the water. But since everyone invited to Madeline’s birthday banquet belonged to elite families closely tied to the Biggs family, holding them accountable was out of the question. The best they could do was offer a forced apology.

But compared to nearly drowning, a flimsy “sorry” meant nothing.

After Carter had them delete the video of Sharon, the whole affair was swept under the rug.

Sharon’s fear of water traced back to her childhood-she had once fallen into the sea while boating with her mother.

Later, life grew busy, and she lived far from the coast, with little exposure to oceans or lakes. Though years had passed and her phobia had faded somewhat, her instinct was still to avoid water. She’d never learned to swim.

But after that incident at Madeline’s birthday party, it took her more than half a year to overcome her fear. Eventually, she taught herself to swim. 1

Nate sneered. “You jumped in on purpose, didn’t you? Just for this moment?”

Sharon looked up calmly. “You think I jumped in on purpose?”

Nate arched a brow. “Are you saying you didn’t? Are you going to claim Kelly pushed you in?”

“Yes,” Sharon replied. “She did.”

Nate stiffened like a hound catching scent. He jabbed a finger toward her, his face lit with revelation.

“Oh, I get it now… You jumped in not just to get closer to Carter, but to frame Kelly too. Two birds with one stone, huh? Brilliant move, Sharon. Really devious.”

He looked proud, like he’d uncovered some grand conspiracy.

The cold wind bit through Sharon’s soaked clothes, and she shivered.

Carter shrugged off his suit jacket and draped it over her shoulders.

“Sharon,” he said, “Kelly would never do something like that. Maybe you misunderstood. It’s getting chilly. Let’s go inside and get you changed. We can talk about everything afterward.”

Nate, eager to fan the flames, scoffed from the side. “All this drama just to get Carter’s attention-what a manipulative little tease.”

Sharon flung Carter’s jacket off as if tossing garbage.

Then, without a word, she took a step forward.

Carter, thinking she had finally relented, relaxed slightly.

But instead of returning to him, Sharon marched straight toward Kelly and yanked her by the hair,

“Ah!” Kelly shrieked, caught completely off guard. Her delicate facade crumbled as her tace twisted in pain.

Sharon stared at her coldly. “Didn’t you just say no matter what you do, Carter would never blame you? Well, here’s my answer. What he does or doesn’t do has nothing to do with me. You wanted me dead? Fine. Now I’ll return the favor,”

With that, she kicked Kelly straight into the lake.

The sound of water exploding filled the air as Kelly plunged in, soaked and flailing.

Nate stared at Sharon in disbelief, fury simmering in his eyes.

“Sharon, are you insane? You actually shoved Kelly into the water?”

Sharon’s patience snapped. She raised her arm and slapped him hard across the face.

She’d wanted to hit him for a long time.

Nate’s head jerked to the side. Stunned, he stood frozen, wide-eyed, completely unable to process what had just happened. (2) He never imagined Sharon would dare strike him, especially right in front of Carter.
