Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 482

Chapter 482

The next day, Sharon, Matty, John, and the others arrived early at the performance venue.

As they stepped inside, Wendy looked around at the opulent surroundings and couldn’t help but let out a sigh.

“I thought I’d seen it all after so many years as a manager,” she said. “But I guess poverty still limits the imagination. This place

is insane.”

Sharon took in her surroundings too. She’d spent years living in the Kalen household, but back then she’d still been in school and rarely had the chance to visit private clubs like this, let alone a venue this lavish.

The performance hall wasn’t huge, with seating for about a thousand people. Not nearly enough for a full-scale concert or symphony, but just right for a private tribute like today’s event.

Before long, Xavier arrived.

Wendy blinked in surprise. “Xavier? You’re early.”

He smiled. “Thought I’d come ahead and see if there’s anything I can do to help.”

His gaze settled on the violin in Sharon’s hands. “You didn’t bring Shaluna today?”

Sharon nodded. “It’s out for maintenance. I brought my regular violin this time.”

She rarely used the violin her mother had left her-Shaluna-and only brought it out for very special occasions. She had planned to use it today, but just a few days ago, the tuning started acting up. She’d sent it in for adjustments.

The Shaluna had a distinct tone, different from any other violin. Anyone with a trained ear could tell the difference immediately.

Xavier nodded thoughtfully, then turned back to her.

“Sharon,” he said, “my friend got back to me. Your phone recording was wiped by a top-tier hacker. But I’ve found someone to work on audio recovery. It’s going to take a while.”

He hesitated awhile, then said, “I’m really sorry.”

Sharon shook her head. She didn’t blame him.

“Even if it hadn’t been you,” she said, “whoever else I brought it to would’ve run into the same problem. Someone clearly doesn’t want that recording to get out. They were always going to find a way to destroy it.”

She saw it clearly now. If the recording could be erased from Xavier’s end, there was no way it would’ve survived with her.

She admitted to herself-there had been a moment, just a flicker, when she’d doubted him. But she’d been through similar situations before. She knew what a calculated approach looked like.

Xavier didn’t feel like Cole.

Cole had always claimed to be estranged from Victoria, but thinking back, he’d never actually done anything to harm her.

Still… who was behind the deleted recording?

Nate couldn’t have pulled it off.

Carter? He might have the skills. But would Kelly really have told him the truth-that Sharon had something on her phone that could ruin her?

Or maybe she lied to him about the content and just said she wanted something deleted to avoid trouble.

Back then, Carter would’ve helped her without a second thought. But now? Even Sharon could see that the trust between them

had eroded. Blindly deleting data from her phone without asking questions? That didn’t sound like him anymore.

Besides, Sharon had been there that day. She’d said what she said right in front of them.

Carter wasn’t stupid. There was no point overthinking it. D

“We should get ready,” she said. “Uriah will be here soon.”
