Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 494

Chapter 494

Sharon had only two words in response. “You’re crazy.”

Cole was, without a doubt, someone she despised even more than Nate.

At least Nate had always made his disdain clear. Cole, on the other hand, had hidden his loathing behind a false facade of kindness, only to orchestrate a grand spectacle that ultimately ruined her reputation.

Noticing the open disgust on Sharon’s face, Cole let out a laugh, appearing completely unfazed.

To him, the hatred and resentment of the weak were utterly meaningless.

“Sharon, my grandfather was only fooled by you because he doesn’t know who you really are. But now that I’m here, I won’t let you keep deceiving him.”

Sharon looked at him calmly. “Then go ahead. Go to Uriah right now and expose me. I’ll wait right here.”

Cole’s gaze narrowed, studying her face.

She wasn’t afraid at all.

In fact, she had the boldness of someone with nothing to fear-either because she had something powerful backing her, or because she was confident that even if the truth came out, the old man would still choose to believe her.

Cole leaned toward the latter.

From what he’d heard, she’d known his grandfather for almost a year now. Clearly, she’d spent that year carefully weaving her spell.

Why else would his grandpa make such a spectacle over her?

If he tried to expose her now, it might not even work.

As his thoughts spun, a new idea took shape.

Cole’s eyes gleamed with malicious amusement as he looked at Sharon, like a predator watching prey make its last, futile struggle.

He chuckled. “Sharon, do you really think that just because you’ve won over my grandfather, I’m powerless against you?”

Sharon met his gaze, her smile cold and sharp. “Of course not. What couldn’t a man as devious as you do?”

His smile faltered for a beat.

He shrugged. “Since you know that, you’d better leave quietly. I’d rather not get rough with a woman.”

If he couldn’t persuade his grandfather to give up on her, then he’d make her give up voluntarily, just like she had once before.

As long as Sharon didn’t take the stage tonight, or better yet, ruined the performance and embarrassed the old man, no matter how much affection Uriah had for her, disappointment would surely follow.

With that thought, a flash of cold intent flickered in Cole’s eyes.

In a swift movement, he closed in and clamped a hand over her mouth.

He glanced around. No one was watching.

Then, without a sound, he dragged Sharon away.

In the backstage dressing room, Wendy was calling Sharon over and over, but no one answered.

Frowning, she said, “What’s going on? Why isn’t Sharon picking up? The performance is about to start.”

Casey looked anxious. “You don’t think something’s happened to her, do you?”

Ever since running into her ex-boyfriend Damien earlier, her right eyelid had been twitching, nonstop. It felt like something bad was about to happen.

Wendy, however, looked puzzled. “It’s just a small charity performance. What could possibly go wrong?”

At that moment, John-who had been lost in thought-finally snapped out of his daze.

“Maybe we should ask Xavier. Sharon might be with him.”

Wendy immediately dialed Xavier’s number. He picked up quickly.

After a brief exchange, she hung up and turned to the others.

“Well? Was she with him?” they all asked at once.

Wendy replied, “Xavier said she was with him just a little while ago, but they separated soon after. He ran into a business associate, so Sharon went ahead on her own. He’s looking for her now. He said he’ll call the moment there’s any news.”
