Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 546

Chapter 546

Kelly fell to the ground, clutching her cheek, staring at Sharon in utter disbelief.

Even Theo stood frozen, startled by what had just happened.

Sharon ignored Kelly and turned to Dillon. “Dillon, let’s leave-before anything unexpected happens.”

Dillon smiled and nodded. “Let’s go.”

Holding Theo’s hand, Sharon moved quickly toward the exit.

“Mommy…” Theo glanced back at Kelly, a flicker of worry in his young eyes.

Sharon’s expression darkened.

Men like Dillon-desperate fugitives with nothing to lose-were the most untrustworthy. He seemed agreeable now, but who knew when he might suddenly turn on them?

On the way there, Sharon had spoken with Dillon. He’d said, “To be honest, we’ve been watching your family for nearly a year. Kidnapping isn’t easy, especially when the target is someone like Carter.

You always went from home to school and back again. Just two places. No gaps. No opportunity.

I thought we’d never get a window, until your ex-husband’s first love came back into the picture.”

At that, Dillon had chuckled.

“Originally, I planned to kidnap you. But after months of surveillance, it became clear that your ex-husband didn’t give a damn about you. Even if I took you, I doubted it would rattle him. So I changed the plan-snatch Kelly and your son instead. Problem was, Carter rarely left them unguarded. We had to wait for the perfect moment.

“From what I saw, your kid ran off on his own a lot, but I suspected someone was always watching him from the shadows. I couldn’t take the risk. What if Carter had set up a trap? If Kelly hadn’t stepped away and left your son alone that day, we wouldn’t

have had a chance.”

Hearing that, Sharon’s expression had turned ice cold.

So Kelly had taken Theo out, and that was when he’d been kidnapped.

As Dillon said, it hadn’t been a matter of mere luck—it had required precise timing, the right conditions, and someone letting

their guard down.

Snapping back to the present, Sharon’s brow furrowed slightly. She cast a fleeting glance at Dillon.

He caught it. His eyes, half-lidded in amusement, met hers with a subtle, unsettling smile.

He was watching her, something unreadable glittering in his gaze,

A strange suspicion stirred in Sharon’s mind. She instinctively tightened her grip on Theo’s small hand.

“Ow, Mom…” Theo winced and frowned as her grip became too firm.

Dillon laughed. “Sharon, why are you looking at me like that? Do you have something to say?”

Sharon stared at him. “You-”

Before she could finish, Dillon cut her off.

“Relax. As we agreed, I’ll let you and your son go. As for that woman…”

He turned toward Kelly with a sly, cruel smirk.

“I’ll take care of her for you. But the two-out-of-three game we arranged still needs to be played through. Otherwise, it’ll all look like child’s play. Carter might not even believe it.”

Kelly’s eyes flew open wide. She shrieked.

“Sharon, this kidnapping… Was it your plan?!”

Theo looked between them, utterly confused.

“Mommy, what are they talking about? What does he mean? What’s going on?”

A knot of dread twisted in Sharon’s chest.

She glanced at Dillon again.

He gave a knowing smile. “Ah, Sharon, sharp as ever. You figured it out.”

Then, turning to Kelly, he added with mock pity, “If you’d had even half of Sharon’s intelligence, you wouldn’t have ended up

like this.”
