Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 565

Chapter 565

A subtle change flickered in Kelly’s expression as her gaze remained fixed on Victoria’s earrings.

“Victoria, would you mind taking them off so I can have a closer look?”

It was a rude request-blatantly so-but Kelly no longer cared about propriety.

Victoria glanced at Carter. Seeing that he made no move to stop her, she smiled faintly. “Of course.”

She removed the earrings and handed them to Kelly.

Kelly examined them carefully.

The craftsmanship was exquisite. The earrings were intricately carved with floral patterns. Interestingly, the patterns on each earring weren’t identical but mirrored each other symmetrically.

In that moment, Kelly felt a wave of relief. Thank goodness she hadn’t tried to replicate them.

When Thomas had shown her the earring, she had immediately known it wasn’t ordinary. The material alone was priceless. The craftsmanship-elegant, intricate, and impossibly refined-was something no counterfeit could replicate.

She stared at the earring in her palm. It was an exact match for the one Thomas had given her.

A pair like this… Only someone like Victoria, a true daughter of high society, could wear such a thing. Could the lost earring have belonged to Victoria?

“Victoria,” Kelly ventured, “forgive me for asking, but… how many pairs of these earrings do you own?”

“Just one,” Victoria replied.

“And have you ever lost one?”

“No.”

Reluctantly, Kelly handed the earrings back. She didn’t want to. She truly desired them.

But Victoria wasn’t Sharon. She wasn’t someone you could bully into giving up what you wanted.

She had no shortage of money, and these earrings were a birthday gift from her father. There was no way Kelly could obtain them, nor could she ask Victoria to part with them.

Her only goal now was to confirm whether Victoria was the one who had lost the earring.

Thankfully, although Victoria owned the earrings, she wasn’t the person in question.

Sharon soon returned to practicing the violin. With the concert drawing near, she had no time to waste on irrelevant people.

That day, she and Casey were rehearsing a duet “Starry Night.”

Just then, Wendy returned with lunch.

“Stop practicing, stop practicing. It’s time for lunch!”

Casey turned around and gestured for her to keep her voice down. She pointed toward the far end of the rehearsal room.

Wendy followed her gaze and was stunned to see Thomas asleep on the sofa.

“Seriously?” she whispered. “He’s asleep again? Unbelievable. What is it with you two playing the violin and him instantly

dozing off? Was he up all night gaming? Just how late did he stay up?”

Sharon replied, “I don’t think it’s mobile games. The doctor said he has insomnia. He probably just can’t sleep at night.’

Over the past few weeks, she and Wendy had taken Thomas to several medical checkups. His condition hadn’t improved at all. In fact, they’d discovered he suffered from clinical insomnia.

Normally, Thomas was quiet, diligent, and perceptive. Even John, who had initially been wary of him, had warmed up quickly.

As soon as the music stopped, Thomas stirred.

He seemed to be a light sleeper. The slightest disturbance was enough to wake him.

Sharon suspected it came from a deeply ingrained sense of vigilance.

Thomas checked the time and raised an eyebrow. “I actually slept that long?”

“Mhm,” Sharon said. “Come eat.”

Casey turned to her and asked, “Sharon, John hasn’t been rehearsing with us very much lately. Are you sure that won’t be a problem?” (1
