Chapter 568
Sharon raised her eyebrows in surprise. “Why the sudden question?”
Thomas replied, “I heard from Casey that Marcentine is a paradise for musicians. Many top-tier artists go there for exchanges or advanced training. With your level of skill on the violin, I was wondering if you’d ever studied there.”
Sharon didn’t hide the truth. “I did live in Marcentine for a while.”
A flicker of emotion passed through Thomas’s eyes. “How long were you there?”
“Including my years in university, about six years.”
“When did you go?”
Sharon turned to look at him, sensing something more behind the question. “You’re very curious about my time in Marcentine, aren’t you?”
Thomas said, “I have this strange sense of familiarity with that place, like I might’ve grown up there. I want to learn more about it, just in case.”
His explanation sounded reasonable, but Sharon still found his questions odd.
Her background was known only to a handful of people close to her. Besides them, only Xavier knew the full story. Even Carter had never heard it, so she certainly wouldn’t confide in Thomas.
“I was just there for school,” she said lightly. “I lived on campus most of the time. Occasionally, I’d go out for performances or competitions, but I didn’t see much of the outside world. If you feel a connection to the place, I can arrange for someone to take you there and make a trip out of it.”
Thomas gave a small shake of his head. “No need. Your concert is coming up soon. Better to focus on that.”
He seemed to sense her unwillingness to delve deeper. Standing up, he said, “I’ll go check if Wendy needs anything.”
Sharon gave a slight nod.
After he left, she picked up her violin and resumed her practice.
In an elegantly styled French restaurant, a young man and woman sat facing each other.
After confirming the order, Ginny handed the menu back to the waiter. “That will be all, thank you.”
Once the waiter left, she looked across the table at the man. “Rick, may I ask what this meeting is really about?”
Rick met her gaze. “You and I are about to be engaged. Isn’t it natural for us to meet over a meal now and then?” Ginny took a sip of water. “So you’re saying this is just a casual lunch?”
Rick was silent for a few seconds before admitting, “Actually, I did ask you out because I need a favor.”
Ginny showed no sign of surprise.
The Blakely and Kalen families had been close for generations. She and Rick hadn’t grown up together, but they’d met several times. He was a workaholic. If he reached out, it was never without reason
“Go ahead. What is it?”
Rick said, “Victoria has a friend who’s holding a concert soon She was hoping you’d agree to be a special guest performer.”

Ginny raised her brows slightly. “When is the concert?”
“In three months.”
“And the venue?”
“Amstern City.”
Ginny gave him a look. “Your sister’s friend… She wouldn’t happen to be Kelly, would she?”
A faint crease formed between Rick’s brows. “I’m not sure. Victoria didn’t mention a name.”

Her expression cooled. “I’m sorry, but I’ve already agreed to be the featured guest at Sharon’s concert. I won’t have time to attend any others.”
“Sharon?” Rick repeated, puzzled. “She’s holding a concert?”
Ginny looked at him as if he’d asked the obvious. “Didn’t you come to Amstern City to bring Sharon back home? You didn’t even know about this?”
Rick’s voice dropped into a low murmur. “My father and I haven’t had a chance to meet with her yet.” 1
