Nate wasn’t about to tell Julliard his plans. Julliard was too kindhearted-there was no way he’d approve of this plan. If Julliard told Carter, the whole scheme against Sharon would fall apart. 

Nate hesitated, then tried to cover his tracks. 

“Julliard, let’s not tell Carter about Sharon’s blind date today. You know how he keeps hoping she’ll come back to take care of Theo. Finding out she’s dating again would only upset him.” 

Julliard glanced at Nate, the sharpness in his eyes fading. 

“Yeah, I get it.” 

The next day, Lex was busy with work when the door suddenly slammed open. 

Cole rushed in, face tense. 

“Uncle Lex, bad news! You’re all over the news!” 

Lex frowned. 

“Me?” 

“Yeah, you.” Cole gulped. “The headlines say you’re a two-timing scumbag who dumped your girlfriend who’s been with you for years…” 

Lex’s mind snapped back to yesterday. His face darkened with anger. 

“Nonsense!” 

Cole pressed on, “I know it’s fake, but no one else does. The Kalen family is in Zachemaine now; they’ll see this too. You have to get that trending topic taken down immediately, or it’ll ruin your reputation.” 

Lex’s eyes grew cold. He pulled out his phone and made a call. 

“Remove every single news article about me online.” 

But soon his phone rang again. It was his assistant, voice trembling. 

He looked at Lex uncertainly. 

“Nate always seems to publicly oppose Sharon, but somehow turns around and does her a huge favor. Do you think he’s secretly helping her? I heard he’s a close friend of Carter. So, maybe he’s secretly in love with Sharon, and he’s been putting on a show to keep Carter in the dark about his feelings. Also…” 

Cole laid out everything he’d uncovered. 

“At the auction, Nate openly insulted you with terrible lies. Now this news comes from his company. It’s hard not to read between the lines.” 

He handed over the stack of information he’d gathered. 

Lex’s eyes darkened as he scanned the documents. 

“How dare a small fry like Nate go up against me!” 

Cole warned, “Uncle Lex, we’re in Amstern City now. Nate has Carter and Julliard backing him. He’s not going to be easy to deal with.”
