Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 702

Chapter 702

Sharon stared in surprise at the anger burning in Julliard’s expression. In a low voice, she said, “Julliard, thank you, but I’ve already taught him a lesson.”

Realizing his loss of composure, Julliard quickly tried to explain. “You’re about to hold your concert, and you’re still in the middle of a competition. If anything were to happen now, it

could jeopardize your results.”

His words made Sharon’s expression tighten.

The stage was unpredictable; victory and defeat could change in an instant. She was not arrogant enough to think she could ignore an injury to her hand and still look down on all

her rivals.

Damien’s malice ran far too deep.

“I never thought he’d have the nerve,” she said, her voice cold. “To come right at me and

Casey out in the open like that-hurting me and even trying to drag Casey away. I was careless. I underestimated how low he would actually stoop.”

The truth was, even someone as reckless and stupid as Nate had never dared to barge in

with a bunch of thugs, attacking people and trying to kidnap them right in the open.

Julliard didn’t bring up getting payback again. Instead, he asked, “Sharon, should I arrange for a couple of bodyguards to watch over you? The Malcolms have no shame. Who knows what they’ll try next.”

Sharon smiled lightly. “Thank you, Julliard, but there’s no need. Xavier has already arranged for people to watch over me in secret.’

For a fleeting instant, Julliard’s expression froze. The stiffness passed quickly, replaced by

his usual composure. “In that case, if you run into any trouble, promise me you’ll call.”

Sharon nodded.

is settled, we can leave now.”

As he stepped into the room, his gaze fell on Julliard. His stride faltered, and a flicker of something unreadable crossed his eyes. With a faint smile, he said, “What a coincidence, to run into Julliard even here at the hospital.”

Sharon explained, “Julliard came to my studio to see me. He saw the ambulance and

thought something had happened, so he came here.”

“Oh, I see…” Thomas’s smile deepened, carrying an undertone difficult to miss. “Quite the coincidence indeed. But Julliard did arrive a little late, didn’t he?”

Julliard’s expression darkened. He quickly admitted, “Yes, it’s my fault. I came too late, and

Sharon was hurt because of it.”

“Don’t talk nonsense, Thomas,” Sharon interjected. “Julliard has helped me a great deal.

None of this was his fault.”

Thomas’s lips curved into a mild smile. “Just a joke. If blame must be placed, it belongs entirely to Damien.”

Calmly and unhurriedly, he proceeded to recount the entire incident from beginning to end.

The more Julliard listened, the colder his eyes became. By the time Thomas finished, even

the refined smile that usually graced his face could no longer hold. He lowered his gaze, hiding the storm in his expression.

“Sharon,” he said, “since you’re heading back, I’ll take my leave as well.’

Sharon assumed he had matters to attend to and didn’t press him to stay. “All right, go ahead if you’re busy.”

After he left, Sharon and Thomas departed as well.

Once in the car, Sharon suddenly remembered she hadn’t thanked Thomas properly for

stepping in. “Thomas, thank you. If you hadn’t shown up when you did, I might really have

been hurt.”

Thomas brushed it off. “I’m your assistant, Sharon. You pay me a salary. This is simply part

of my job.”

“But how did you happen to come upstairs just then?” she asked curiously.

“I noticed several cars parked downstairs. They didn’t look right, so I came up to check,” he

replied.

Sharon didn’t take his help for granted. She looked at him earnestly. “Regardless, I still owe you thanks.”

After a moment’s thought, she took out some cash. “Consider this a bonus.”

Thomas didn’t accept it. “I hardly have any expenses. Keep the money.”

But Sharon insisted. “I promised you a bonus. I intend to keep that promise.”
