Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 745

Chapter 745

The glow from the television screen cast an eerie light over Damien’s face, making him look almost ghostly.

As he stared at the woman being interviewed on the screen, a slow, twisted smile spread across his lips.

“Sharon… I’ll make you pay dearly.”

The solo competition had ended, and now it was time for the ensemble round.

Ensemble performances tested teamwork and coordination. In international competitions, teamwork was crucial; participants couldn’t simply rely on individual brilliance.

Among all the events, ensemble performances carried the heaviest weight in scoring.

Partners were assigned by drawing lots. Sharon’s partner was a young woman in her twenties named Abigail Lawson. Abigail was gifted and spirited, though still in need of experience to reach the final round.

Thomas drove, while Sharon sat in the passenger seat, closing her eyes to rest.

This round wasn’t particularly difficult for her, but caution was still necessary- especially with Kelly, who had a notorious knack for dirty tricks, competing in the

same event.

The car was quiet. Then, Thomas spoke.

“Sharon, today’s competition is an ensemble. Your partner isn’t that skillful. Are you worried it might lower your score?”

Sharon leaned back in her seat, eyes still closed.

“No. Ensemble scoring values coordination over individual skill. After all, each competitor’s ability varies. If rankings were based purely on strength, there would be no need for ensemble performances at all.”

“I see,” Thomas murmured.

Just then, his expression shifted subtly while driving.

“Sharon, we may have a problem.”

Sharon’s eyes snapped open. “What happened?”

Thomas glanced in the rearview mirror, his gaze hardening.

“There are cars following us.

She turned to look and saw them: a few unmarked vehicles tailing their car, neither too

close nor too far.

Thomas maintained his speed, calm but tense.

“They haven’t realized we’ve noticed them yet. If they do, they could attempt to flank us. Sharon… what should we do?”

This road was the only route to the competition venue.

Sharon paused for a moment, thinking. “I remember a side road ahead. Turn onto it.”

“Understood.”

Ten minutes later, Thomas’s expression darkened.

“Sharon… they’ve caught up again, and—” He glanced at the oncoming vehicles. “They came prepared. They’ve got people posted all along this route, probably to box us in. My guess is they want to force us onto that side road to deal with us there.”

A knot of anxiety tightened in Sharon’s chest.

It was too late to switch drivers now.

As she frantically weighed her options, Thomas’s voice cut through the tension again.

“Sharon… should I try to lose them?”

She hesitated, caught completely off guard by the question.

Seeing no immediate response, Thomas assumed she didn’t like the idea. “Sharon… would you prefer we cause a crash to get rid of them?”

Before Sharon could even process a reply, Thomas stomped on the accelerator.

“Sorry, Sharon,” he said, his voice eerily calm, his eyes locked on the road ahead. “I thought shaking them would work, but they’d just find us again. A total wreck… that’s the only way to make sure this ends for good.”

Sharon froze. She hadn’t actually said anything—had she?

Before she could even react, the car lunged forward with a sharp roar.
