Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 760

Chapter 760

The call connected almost instantly, and a man’s voice came through the line.

“Hello, who’s speaking?”

His voice was clear and steady, youthful, even pleasant-nothing remotely unhinged about it. Not the slightest trace of madness.

Strangely, Lex felt a flicker of familiarity. He couldn’t place it immediately, but he was

certain he had heard that voice somewhere before.

He spoke with measured politeness. “Mr. Ferrero, good day. I am Lex Malcolm, the current head of the Malcolm family.”

A light, almost amused laugh came from the other end. “Ah, I’m aware of your reputation, Mr. Malcolm. For you to call me so suddenly—to what do I owe the pleasure?”

Lex wasted no time on further courtesies. “Mr. Ferrero, I assume you’re aware of the live broadcast concerning Damien that is currently saturating the internet. Our investigation indicates he is in Leistre, and the servers streaming the broadcast are also based there. I am

requesting your assistance-temporarily cut Leistre’s communications network to

terminate the stream.”

The man’s reply was slow, almost leisurely. “I’m afraid that won’t be possible.”

Lex pressed on, his tone firm. “It would require only a minute. I understand your nation would incur losses, but the Malcolm family is prepared to offer full compensation…’

Before he could finish, the man cut him off.

“That broadcast? I’m the one who arranged it. Why would I cut off the live stream? That

would be a slap to my own face. Does my pride count for nothing?”

Lex froze, his mind blank. For a heartbeat, he wondered if he had misheard.

“You… what did you just say?”

The man chuckled and repeated, “Damien’s livestream is my doing. Who else do you think brought him to Leistre in the first place?”

Lex was utterly stunned. Anyone else, even if they were responsible, would deny it, play dumb, feign ignorance. Yet this man-this supposed head of the Ferrero family-not only admitted it outright but did so with casual audacity.

Lex was speechless.

His head spun with a thousand incredulous questions. His initial impression of the man’s normalcy had been pure wishful thinking. The Ferreros truly had no sane men among them.

Forcing his voice to remain even, Lex said, “I don’t know how Damien has offended you, Mr. Ferrero. But whatever grievances exist, surely we can discuss them. There’s no need to take matters to such an extreme.”

The man’s voice cooled several degrees. “There is nothing to discuss. I simply dislike him. He provoked someone he shouldn’t have, and this is the consequence. Consider it a small

lesson. But if there is a next time, it will not stop at a livestream.” 1

The line went dead before Lex could form a response.

He stared at the phone, his face dark with fury, his teeth clenched.

“The sheer arrogance! He dares dismiss me as if I’m nothing!”

Cole, who had been standing beside him the entire time, had heard every word. He wasn’t

the least bit surprised. It was common knowledge the Ferrero family was… unhinged. Hearing it firsthand only confirmed the rumors. They really were that insane.

How Damien had managed to provoke such a cursed star was beyond comprehension. Even

Cole found the situation difficult to handle.

He asked in a low voice, “Uncle, since the Ferrero family won’t help, what is our next

move?”

Lex’s tone turned frigid. “Block the broadcast from whichever area we can. Then find a way

to extract Damien.”

Cole nodded at once and hurried off to make arrangements.

Meanwhile, Wendy had just received the news. She rushed to the hospital, brimming with excitement, eager to share the explosive development with Sharon and Thomas.

“You won’t believe this… It’s like the whole world has united against Damien! I’ve never seen anything like it in my life!”
