Chapter 788
Wendy stared at him in confusion. “Make our move? What do you mean by that?”
Thomas answered as if it were the most natural thing in the world. “Of course, cripple Harry’s hand so he can’t compete.”
Wendy repeated blankly, “Cripple Harry’s hand… so he can’t compete?”
Thomas raised an eyebrow. “Are we supposed to just stand by and let Sharon renounce the violin forever?”
Wendy frowned. “If Sharon dared to accept his challenge, it means she’s absolutely certain
she can win. But you…”
She gave him a strange look, as though trying to see into his mind.
“How could you even think of crippling Harry’s hand?”
Thomas’s voice was calm, his logic cold. “Harry set up this bet to destroy Sharon’s career. That’s no different from crippling her hand. If he can do it to her, why can’t we do it to
him?”
To her surprise, Wendy found his words disturbingly reasonable. She glanced around to make sure no one was listening, then whispered, “Harry is a public figure. If his hand were injured before the match, suspicion would fall on us first. Sharon has an upcoming concert
-better not invite a storm of scandal. Besides…”
Her gaze drifted to the stage where Sharon stood poised. “Sharon’s skill is already nearing its peak. She may not lose to Harry at all.”
Thanks to Uriah’s careful treatment, Sharon’s hand had fully recovered before the
competition, leaving no lingering damage. It proved just how vital it was to know an
extraordinary doctor.
Wendy’s eyes flicked toward Thomas. He had also been sharp-eyed enough to notice the

danger early on. Without him, Sharon’s arm might truly have been scarred for life.
Thomas listened, then his expression shifted as if something had clicked.
“I understand.”
If they couldn’t touch Harry before the match… then nothing stopped them afterward.
While the two whispered, Harry and Sharon had already taken their places.

To make the outcome indisputable, they would perform the same piece. The selection was left to chance: both had submitted two pieces, and the host would draw one at random.
Harry’s choices were two of the most technically punishing works in the entire violin repertoire.
Sharon, by contrast, had selected two of her mother Shayla’s signature pieces-formidable in their own right, but not on the same monstrous, legendary level of difficulty as Harry’s selections.
When the titles were revealed, the live stream chat nearly froze under the avalanche of
comments.
[“Echoes of the Wind” and “Gaze”? My god, is Harry trying to end her career?]
[Wait, what’s the big deal? I’m not a violinist. Someone explain!]
[“Echoes of the Wind” and “Gaze” are two of the hardest violin pieces ever composed. To put it simply, since their debut, you can count on one hand the number of violinists worldwide who have performed them flawlessly. They’re so notorious they’re grouped with
“Void” as the ‘Devil’s Trilogy’ -the ultimate nightmare for any violinist.]
[Are they really that hard? Hasn’t anyone ever mastered them?]
[A few legends have-Maestro Warner, Shayla, and yes, Harry himself. Their ability to conquer all three pieces is precisely what cemented their legendary status. There might be unknown geniuses out there, but if they exist, they’ve never stepped into the light.]

[No matter how talented Sharon is, she can’t compare to a seasoned master like Harry. If
the draw lands on one of his choices, she’s finished.]
