Wendy hesitated, then added, “And about those exposés on Thomas this morning, I had Xavier look into the sources. Every one of those so-called informants has business ties with the Biggs Group.”

She stole a cautious glance at Sharon. “But… that alone isn’t proof Carter was behind it.”

“Other than Carter,” Sharon asked evenly, “is there anyone else with motive?”

Wendy fell silent. Aside from him… no one came to mind.

Then an idea struck her, “Sharon, if you want to know for sure whether Carter did this, isn’t it simple? Just ask Julliard.”

A flicker passed through Sharon’s eyes. Yes, she could.

She had just reached for her phone when it buzzed in her hand.

The screen lit up with Julliard’s name.

“I’ll take this outside,” Sharon said, rising to her feet.

After she stepped out, Wendy tried to comfort Thomas.
