Rita offered Diamond a seat, and she took it naturally, as it was the best to make herself comfortable.
"Do you want water, coffee, wine or juice?" Rita asked as she walked towards the bar.
"Water will suffice," Diamond responded.
She didn’t want to spit expensive wine later in case Rita started preaching to her again.
Rita was stunned, but it was only for a moment before she hurriedly took two mineral water bottles from the fridge.
She took out two water glasses, placed them on the tray, and brought them to where Diamond was seated.
Rita poured the water into the glasses before she sat across from Diamond, in a position where they could see each other properly.
Diamond reached for the water glass and took a few sips before placing it down.
"So, big sister, why do you want to see me?" Diamond asked calmly as she looked at the older woman.
Rita felt disheartened as she looked at Diamond. She could tell that the enthusiasm she once had for her was no longer her and she couldn’t blame Diamond at all.
She was the one who overreacted and couldn’t accept what she had heard before. She still couldn’t accept it and she knew that after the talk she was about to have, their relationship might end up being unreconcilable again.
Nevertheless, Rita didn’t regret what she was about to do as she still believed that Diamond’s ways were crooked and that she should be set on the right path.
"We parted on bad terms the last time and I just wanted us to talk about it," Rita honestly replied as she found no reason to evade and beat around the bugs.
Diamond’s brows rose upon hearing that. She still didn’t believe that Rita was up to anything good. Especially with the way she reacted the last time.
"Indeed, we need to talk about it."
Diamond agreed as she was curious about what Rita was thinking and planning to tell her on such a beautiful night.
"Diamond, you know that I like you, right?"
Diamond nodded her head as she answered, "Um, I know. It’s been like that from when we first met."
She wasn’t going to paint the old lady in black simply because she wasn’t in favor of her harem idea.
Rita heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing that.
"I am glad that you are aware. And you also know that I will be wishing you for only great things, right?"
"Um, I know. That’s what you do to someone you care for."
"Then I sincerely hope that you thought about it since we parted. I don’t really understand why you want to go on such a path. Can’t you just find one person and settle down with him?"
’I knew it she was up to no good!’ Diamond scoffed inwardly as soon as she heard Rita’s question.
Diamond softly chuckled as she looked at Rita.
She was indeed tired of people trying to decide for her. This woman wasn’t even her relative, so why was so adamant about controlling her?
"Rita, I respect you so much, which is why I can’t have this talk with you. However, respecting you doesn’t necessarily mean that I will listen to or obey you. It doesn’t work like that!" Diamond slowly said as she looked at Rita with scorn on her face.
Rita was slightly taken aback when she saw what Diamond was doing. She had never talked to her in such a cold tone and it was chilling to the bones.
Rita wasn’t a fool to not see that Diamond was no longer taking into consideration the fact that she was older and probably around her parents’ age.
The way she was looking at her, Rita could tell that it wasn’t going to end well. Diamond looked determined, and she knew that Diamond was about to tell her off.
"You don’t know me well. Just because we spent a couple of hours together doesn’t mean that you get to control what I want in my life."
"I have never told you how to control your husband, kids, or even relatives. What you do with your life is none of my business and so you shouldn’t meddle with mine."
"Hehe, they will be begging me to take in their sons. So don’t bother with it!" Diamond recklessly threw her hand as she looked at Rita with scorn.
"You .... You are a lost cause!" Rita yelled angrily as her chest heaved due to anger.
"Bang!" upon hearing that, Diamond stood up angrily as she hit the table. fre.eweb novel\.c om
"Ahhh!" Rita was taken aback as she wasn’t expecting Diamond to react that way. So, she screamed as Diamond’s reaction had indeed scared her.
"Rita, Rita, Rita. I hope that this will be the last time you call me that. You and everybody else don’t have the right to call me that!" Diamond said with gritted teeth as her fists were clenched.
Rita was so scared as she looked at Diamond, who was literally trembling with anger.
Her eyes were narrowed into slits, and the way Diamond was looking at her, Rita knew that it was the end.
"You ... I ... I didn’t_"
Diamond didn’t bother to let Rita finish as she cut her off.
"Whatever you want to say, keep it to yourself. I hope that we will not meet and if we ever bump into each other, let’s pretend as if we don’t know each other!"
After saying that, Diamond didn’t wait for Rita to respond or defend herself and angrily left the suite before banging the door on her way out.
Rita looked helplessly at the door and didn’t know what to say.
’I guess I messed up big time!’ she lamented as she went soft on the couch.
To think that her words had impacted Diamond so much to the extent that she flared up the second she opened her mouth. Rita didn’t know what to think anymore.
’Did I really go overboard? But why can’t she understand that I was just doing this for her sake?’
Rita still couldn’t understand it. And she remained in that state for a very long time.
