The call ended and Diamond was no longer in the mood to read her book. If someone were to ask her if she was really close to Theresa when she was in school, her answer would be NO.
Although they were classmates, they weren't that close to each other and, to make matters interesting, her classmates sort of disliked her. After all, she was very ambitious back then, and when she hooked up with that rich young man, .....ahh... just thinking about giving her a headache.
So now her wonder was why Theresa was looking for her. She couldn't be plotting something against her, right? She couldn't help but be worried as she thought of this.
While she was in the middle of worrying about that, her phone began to ring again and it was a string of numbers she didn't know.
"Andrea, check the number and see who it belongs to!" she instructed her A.I. assistant before answering.
Although she had a feeling that it might be Theresa, she didn't want to answer without knowing who she might be talking to.
[Theresa ***** is the registered owner of the number.]
"Thanks, Andrea," Diamond was relieved, and then she picked up the call.
"Hello, Diamond Perry speaking," in a cool manner, Diamond answered the call.
[Ahhh, it's really you. It's me, Theresa, I got your number from Dorcas. I hope that you don't mind!]
Diamond couldn't act surprised anymore, so she calmly responded without any hint of excitement. After all, why should she be excited when she wasn't even half close to the caller?
"Ohh, it's you! Dorcas told me that you may be calling. How have you been?"
[I am doing okay. I heard so much about you from Dorcas.]
"Haha, it's nothing. So why are you calling?" getting straight to the point, Diamond asked.
There was a moment of silence for a few seconds on the other side before Theresa answered, [so, you remember Queen, right?]
How could she not remember her?
That girl was her worst nightmare, just thinking about her. She was suddenly angry, "Yes, I do," with a slightly cold tone.
[That's perfect, she is holding a class reunion next week, and we have been doing our best to contact all classmates. You couldn't be reached for like years and no one knew how to reach you. Your number couldn't get through, so this time I got lucky. I want to invite you to the reunion. Can you come?]
If she had known that things would move in that direction, she would have pretended to not hear the call and just ignored it. But there was no medicine for regret in this world.
A class reunion will be like a nightmare as it would only remind her of the times she .......
She knew that she had to be calm and think rationally before answering, "I will think about it and give you an answer by tomorrow. Are you cool with that?"
[Yes, I will wait for you then.] fr\(e)ew(e)b.(n)o (v)(e)l.com
"Andrea, book me a suite at Vevco Resort, will be staying there from Thursday to Monday."
[Yes, my lady.]
Since the class reunion would be done there, she might as well just settle there and get rid of her trauma before she started doing bigger things.
And what better way to show her level than by spending money on such a resort? And in the same place that made her regret so much about being born into this world?
'Umm, don't I have an apartment at Lotus Palace?' it suddenly clicked as her mind plotted a few schemes.
"Andrea, wait! Don't book a suite there, I almost forgot that I have a house there," remembering that, Diamond quickly stopped the ever-efficient assistant from booking a suite for her.
[Order withdrawn.]
"Uuuuh, that was almost close. Now that the house is there, I still need a car. I can't possibly drive all the way to Srad!" she sighed with relief seeing that Andrea had not done anything.
All problems would be solved with time, and she began to look forward to this trip more than before.
Monday arrived, and Diamond held a meeting first at the foundation and they all discussed the foundation's business for two hours before everyone was dismissed.
