Chapter 102
Lydia turned around, looking at him with confusion. “Is there something you need, Mr. West?” After his long silence, she had to break the ice.
Enzo released her hand, his gaze fluctuating. “Why did you ask Diana to expose Cathy? What do you want to achieve?”
So, Diana really went ahead with it? Lydia wasn’t surprised that Diana would confront Cathy on her behalf, but she was surprised that Enzo would come to her about it.
“All along, it was me who ignored you. I’ve said it many times before: if you have any dissatisfaction, come to me directly. Don’t involve innocent people. Why won’t you listen?” he continued, his tone tinged with anger, impatience, and annoyance towards her.
Listening to his words, Lydia began to understand a lot. Even if Diana exposed Cathy’s fake eye condition, Enzo still chose that woman. Was she the best choice for him, no matter what she did, even if she committed crimes?
“Mr. West, how dare you think I have time to be dissatisfied with you? Even if I were dissatisfied, we are already divorced, and I wouldn’t be petty enough to care,” she replied coldly.
Her words were heavy, her eyes icy.
Enzo looked at her intensely. He had heard such words from her many times after their divorce, but every time she said it, she didn’t follow through with her actions. He didn’t believe her!
Lydia knew Enzo too well. With just one change in his expression, she could guess what he was thinking.
Seeing that expression, a surge of bitterness welled up in her heart.
Someone who didn’t keep their word naturally thought that others were also not worth trusting. Enzo was such a person.
“I indeed targeted her because of a personal grudge. Mr. West, don’t think too highly of yourself and imagine things. The matter between me and her has nothing to do with you,” Lydia retorted.
Unmasking Cathy was not even an act of revenge. It was simply because she didn’t want her taking credit for her achievements.
Her expression was cold, and her eyes even colder.
Once upon a time, her eyes used to be filled with admiration when looking at him, but now there was no trace of him left in her heart.
Enzo clearly saw the cold, distant look in her eyes, and his chest suddenly felt stifled.
“What grudge do you have with Cathy?” He suddenly wanted to know.
Lydia smiled sadly.
“What grudge?” she repeated.
The grudge between them was indeed hateful.
Numerous scenes flashed through her mind.
With a slight smile, she didn’t want to hide anything and spoke, “She and I…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Enzo’s phone rang.

Chapter 102
He answered the call, and whatever was said on the other end made his expression tense. He said, “I’ll be right there!” in a cold voice before hanging up.
Lydia looked at him.
Although she didn’t know what was said on the other end or who called, she knew that whatever it was, it was urgent enough to make Enzo leave right away.
For Cathy, he had come here to confront her at midnight. And now, for her, he was rushing back again.
Cathy’s life must really be extraordinary.
“I don’t care about the grudge between you and Cathy. She’s with me now, and I will protect her!” Enzo said, obviously not in the mood to continue talking to Lydia.
After saying that, he got into his car and drove away.
Watching the retreating car, Lydia chuckled softly.
As she laughed, tears rolled down her cheeks, one drop after another.
She had said before that she wouldn’t shed another tear for Enzo. But when she heard him fiercely protect Cathy like this, it still hurt.
With these words, he trampled on her, turning all the efforts she had made for him into a joke.
What a joke.
When Lydia was feeling upset, Cathy wasn’t any happier either. She lay on her bed, her beautiful face filled with sadness.
Linda sat helplessly by her side, gently touching her forehead. “Didn’t we resolve the crisis? Why are you still feeling upset? Look, as soon as I called Mr. West, he rushed over here. He’s treating you as important as before, which is a good thing, right?”
“You don’t understand!” Cathy weakly responded.
No one understood her thoughts. The more Enzo cared for her, the more she felt like a thief, stealing someone else’s credit and enjoying it for free.
She had always been proud and had a sense of self–esteem, and this situation was hard for her to accept.
“It’s all your
fault! Why did you persuade me to impersonate as his cornea donor? If you hadn’t come up with this idea, everything wouldn’t have turned out like this!” She growled with resentment.
Linda’s face reddened, quickly apologizing, “I admit that it was my fault. I didn’t expect Lydia to find out and have Diana expose you. But Cathy, isn’t this matter already settled?”
Linda didn’t know about the past between Lydia and Enzo, nor did she know that for all these years, Cathy had been mistaken by Enzo as the “big–eyed girl” from the past, taking Lydia’s place and enjoying the good days.
She also didn’t know that Cathy knew about all of this.
Cathy covered her face tightly.
She still wanted to be angry.
