Chapter 442: Where are the vampires?

"The Spire district, red lanterns, secret doors... Sounds like quite the party." Damon smiled. A level 60 demoness wasn’t some random tavern wench. Her being sent here with this information meant someone behind the scenes was pulling strings. Vampires? Demons? A demon general?

The demoness pressed closer, her tail curling tighter around his thigh. "Oh, it’s no ordinary party," she murmured, her lips brushing his jaw. "Rare items, rare beasts, and even rare women. If you have the coin... or the power, you’ll walk away with something interesting."

She bit her lip coyly, then slipped off his lap with deliberate grace without actually intending to give Damon a drink from her. Another woman came over to replace her and sat down instead.

Damon’s crimson gaze followed the level 60 demoness briefly before turning back to the new girl on his lap. He then casually continued drinking more blood. Another couple of hours passed by, and still there was no contact.

Damon frowned. He still hadn’t decided yet, but it looked like he would have to check out that auction anyway. The two of them then finally left the tavern and headed straight for their inn. When they were halfway through the twisting alleys, Damon’s senses pricked.

Someone was following them. Mark subtly exchanged a glance with him, he too sensing the new company.

Damon paused for a moment and then grinned. Vampires. "Well now... looks like the night just got interesting." He waited for his fellow bloodsuckers to come forward and reveal themselves, but as soon as he stopped, everyone scattered away. "Huh? What are they waiting for? Did I not do everything correctly?"

Damon was puzzled. He had acted proud and domineering. He put down a couple of demons, even killing one in the middle of the street. He fang fucked a bunch of demon women and spent his money freely.

Technically, this should be enough to get the attention of the vampires here. But it was still not working? What the hell were they waiting for?

Damon and Mark continued to walk towards the inn, the rest of the path uneventful. They both retreated to their rooms, and it was game reset time shortly after that. Mark and Kate logged out, but Damon was still there along with Ellora, Riven and Kaelthorn.

Damon first planned to head out again immediately but then decided to take a few hours off to look at all of his recent acquisitions. After fighting with the murder of crows and then the demon tide, he had gained a whole boatload of stats. He wanted to see his current progress. He pulled up his status screen.
