So she checked the packaging factory’s accounts until nine at night.

She discovered that the factory’s net profit exceeded a hundred million every year.

With government support and tax reductions, the income was actually quite substantial.

There was no way Josephine didn’t know this.

So when Wilfred asked her to sign the divorce agreement, claiming the factory was losing money and asking her to use Rose Manor to cover a billion, why did she agree so readily?

She must have been too angry to think straight!

HmphHelena let out a mocking snort.

Since she had started investigating the factory, she had to find some mistakes.

Otherwise, it would look like she was incompetent.

Helena closed her eyes to rest, thinking that tomorrow she wouldn’t check the accounts, but would inspect the personal hygiene of those disabled workers instead

As the car passed a stretch of road without streetlights, there was a sudden loud thud.

The front and rear wheels lost control, swaying and spinning 360 degrees in the middle of the road.

Helena was scared out of her wits. Whwhat’s happening?

The bodyguard driving cursed, Damn, we’ve got a flat tire.

The other three bodyguards said, Don’t panic, just hold the steering wheel steady.

Ms. Pollard, is your seatbelt fastened? Hold on to the handle.

Helena obediently grabbed the handle, her heart pounding as if it would leap out of her

throat.

Fortunately, the car wasn’t going fast, and there were no other vehicles on this stretch of

After spinning four or five times, the car stopped in the middle of the road.

The bodyguards worked together to set up the warning triangle, jack up the car, get the tools, and change the spare tire, all thinking Helena was still inside.

Helena, feeling nauseous from the spinning, got out from the other side and ran to the roadside to vomit.

Three strong men, wearing black baseball caps and masks, pinned her down and taped her mouth shut.

They carried her up the nearby hill.

Helena couldn’t call out or scream.

The light on the hill was very dim, but she could vaguely see someone standing halfway up.

Dressed in black, the figure almost blended into the night, making it impossible to tell if it

was a man or a woman.

The three men moved as if they were welltrained, perfectly in sync.

One held Helena down, another grabbed something, and the third ripped the tape off Helena’s mouth with a sharp tearing sound.

Helena felt the skin around her lips suddenly split apart, the pain as if it had been scraped raw by sandpaper.

She couldn’t help but scream out loud.

But the man holding something pulled a handful of chili peppers from his pocket and shoved them roughly into her mouth.

He stuffed her mouth so full there was no space left at all.

Helena was always the one who couldn’t handle spicy food.

Even when Zoey put a slice of ginger in a dish, she would pick it out.

Suddenly, she felt a ball of fire explode in her mouth.

Flames shot down her throat, the burning sensation stabbing straight up to her skull.

The chili peppers slid down her throat with her saliva; instinctively, she swallowed, and the peppers traveled down her esophagus into her stomach.

The burning sensation along the way was like volcanic lava crupting, as if her body was about to be scorched.

Tears and snot streamed down Helena’s face in torrents.

The delicate little beauty was now a mess, her image completely ruined.

But it wasn’t over yet.
