Chapter 19
Recalling him and Helena acting so intimately, she was so disgusted that she wanted to puke.
Panting, he stopped.
Pressing his lips against her ear, he whispered, “Get Dad to forgive you. Then we’ll go back to how things were before.”
She spat, “Dream on!”
The veins on his forehead bulged. “I’m offering you a chance, Josephine. Cherish it. Since I made you, I can destroy you just as much.”
She smiled in contempt, “If you’re really a man, sign the divorce papers.”
Her provocation further enraged him, and his eyes turned bloodshot, like those of a mad beast.
“You left me no choice. Josephine, believe me when I say this–you’ll crawl back to me and beg for my mercy.”
Within ten hours, Josephine knew he meant it.
A large crowd gathered at the entrance of the R&D Center of Novo Tech.
The police, waiting for her, came to her at once. “Josephine Copeland?”
Restrained, Matilda cried miserably while apologizing, “Boss, I’m sorry… I’m so sorry…”
Before Josephine reacted, the police had shown their credentials.
“Ms. Copeland, we suspect that you’re involved in a trade secret violation. Come down to the police station for further investigation.”
Matilda said through tears, “I did it. It was me… She’s got nothing to do with this. Please… Let her go…”
As Josephine walked toward the police car, many reporters took pictures of her, camera flashes popping incessantly.

Chapter 19
Many spat at her and flipped her off with disdain
She saw Belinda among the crowd.
Only then did her heart start to ache.
No mother in this world wanted her kids to witness her being put into a police car.
Belinda started to cry out loud. “I don’t want her to be my mommy! No!”
Helena picked her up and walked over to Josephine with a smile.
Reflected in Josephine’s crystal–clear eyes, her smile was twisted with triumph.
“Fred is mine.
“It feels great being set up by the man you love the most and your most trusted assistant, right?”
Josephine’s face turned livid, her hands slightly trembling.
“You threatened Matilda, didn’t you? You threatened her with Good Samaritan Shelter and her grandfather!”
“Ask the police, Josephine,” Helena sneered.
Back at the station, the police asked, “Ms. Copeland, did you instruct Ms. Tate to leak the blueprints of X3 Chip and sell the technical specifications to foreign investors?”
She firmly denied it.
Also, Matilda confessed that the jewelry found at her place wasn’t a reward from Josephine. Instead, Josephine had asked her to sell them. Also, she had leaked the data, not Josephine.
After a thorough investigation, the police found no evidence supporting Josephine’s crime, so they released her immediately. Soon, under Wilfred’s arrangements, Matilda was released,
too.
Matilda bowed deeply at Josephine, apologizing in anguish, “Mr. Hayden sent my grandpa abroad. He’s seriously ill and has no arms. I can’t imagine how he’s gonna make it out there alone. I … could only do as Mr. Hayden requested.”
Josephine didn’t blame Matilda, but she wouldn’t trust Matilda again either.
