Chapter85
Josephine had been so busy these days that she wished she could sleep at the office.
The team needed to write over a million lines of code.
And different circuits required different coding methods.
The underlying framework system was complex.
Even with the team’s efficient collaboration, assuming each person wrote 500 lines a day, it would still take half a year to write over a million lines of code.
Her hundred–day integration plan included a technical direction for developing code automation tools.
But it was just a direction, not something that could be achieved in a day or two.
Zachery sent Josephine a voice message about Mrs. Vaughn being arrested.
After listening, Josephine replied with four words: “She got what she deserved.”
Right after that, she received a message from Wilfred.
The reason she hadn’t blocked Wilfred on WhatsApp was because she knew that even if she did, if Wilfred wanted to find her, he would always find a way.
Josephine suppressed her discomfort and opened the message:
“Today is our wedding anniversary. I’ll be waiting for you at the music restaurant at 8 p.m.
Don’t be late.”
With only two days left before the divorce, he still had the leisure to celebrate their anniversary.
Josephine laughed sarcastically.
Although she received gifts from Wilfred on every holiday, big or small, every year.
she knew very well that it was always Eugene who took care of everything.

To her, those gifts were like pre–written lines of code.
Punctual and expensive, but devoid of emotion–and sometimes, they even had bugs.
There were even two years when she received the exact same gift…
Her phone vibrated again.
Josephine saw that it was another message from Zachery:
“You once said there was a medicinal cuisine restaurant you liked, and you wanted to treat me.”
Josephine was a little surprised by Zachery’s directness.
She smiled, deleted Wilfred’s message, and made plans to meet Zachery at 8 p.m.
When Josephine arrived, Zachery was waiting alone at the entrance.
“Natalia didn’t come?” Josephine asked.
Zachery said, “She’s still at her grandparents‘ place.”
Josephine nodded, suddenly feeling a bit awkward being alone with him–something she had never felt before.
The ordering process at the medicinal cuisine restaurant was quite unique.
First, the doctor would take your pulse, then the he would diagnose and prescribe a menu.
Ladies first, so Josephine went ahead.
The old doctor stroked his beard and said, “Your pulse is hard. You’ve been quite irritable lately, haven’t you?”
Josephine smiled slightly.
Wasn’t that the truth? She was angry every day–she probably had nodules by now.
“I’ll prescribe you a bitter melon and abalone soup with fish and pork ribs to clear your heat.
When it was Zachery’s turn, the old doctor frowned, shook his head, and sighed deeply.
That made both Zachery and Josephine nervous.

“Your pulse is slow, your essence is sufficient, but your heart and kidneys are not communicating…”
Zachery’s expression tightened. He coughed lightly and withdrew his hand. “Thank you.”
He was about to stand up, but Josephine held him down. “You haven’t gotten your menu yet.”
The old doctor glanced at the two of them, stroking his beard with a smile:
“For his case, I really can’t prescribe anything… All I can say is, a moderate sex life helps balance yin and yang and relieve internal fire…”
Did that mean Dr. Maynard had been abstinent for too long?
Well, Natalia’s mother had been gone for five years, and Dr. Maynard hadn’t dated anyone since. No wonder his yin and yang were out of balance!
Josephine felt quite sympathetic.
She sneaked a glance at Zachery, only to see a rare hint of embarrassment and annoyance flicker in his usually gentle and calm eyes.
“Let’s eat somewhere else.”
Josephine couldn’t help but want to laugh, but she went along with Zachery.
