Chapter38
A passionate kiss landed on her lips.
Priscilla did not refuse.
In this marriage, she had the duties as a wife.
But it was only duty, a purely physical connection between a man and
a woman.
There would be no more feelings.
Eldridge invited Priscilla to meet at his company.
Priscilla agreed.
She braided her hair into a plait and tied a small bow at the end. She also wore a white dress with a floral print.
Her appearance took Eldridge by surprise.
He did not hesitate to compliment her beauty. “Ms. Wilburn, you look lovely, and compared to last time, you seem to be in a much better mood.”
The last time they met, she was dressed appropriately, but there was an unshakable sadness between her brows.
This time, however, she seemed completely relaxed.
Priscilla thanked him for his compliment.
Eldridge gave her a tour of the company, focusing on the R&D department, and finally they had dinner together.
Priscilla was very satisfied. The company was not large, but it was well managed, and she even saw several rare spices.
It was the company she had been searching for.
They had a dinner happily. Eldridge’s knowledge of perfume was even deeper than she had expected, especially his understanding of the concept of ‘classical perfume.‘ which truly surprised her.
The two of them had a wonderful conversation.
Outside the restaurant, in a black car.
Wesley sat quietly in the car, watching the bright smile on his wife’s face. His dark eyes swirled with suppressed emotion.
He hadn’t seen such a smile from her in nearly three months.
Yet now, she was showing it freely to another man.
Moreover, although her outfit was simple today, she looked especially beautiful.
It was clear she had dressed up carefully.
As dinner was coming to an end. Priscilla sent a message to Corrine, expressing her satisfaction with Eldridge.
Just as she sent the message, her phone was snatched away.
She frowned and looked up, seeing her husband.
“What are you doing here?”
Wesley didn’t answer but just browsed through the messages on her phone. His expression grew darker the more he read.
Priscilla folded her arms and let him look through it.
He only returned the phone to her after he was done.
Eldridge knew Wesley, but this was their first meeting.
“Mr. Carlton.” He stood up and politely extended his hand..
Wesley, however, had no intention of shaking hands, and instead regarded Eldridge with a blank expression.
He was a young and handsome man, with a gentle and refined demeanor.
Under other circumstances, he would have been someone Wesley admired.
But seeing such a man by his wife’s side did not please him at all.
Priscilla felt awkward, picked up her bag, and said goodbye to Eldridge: “Thanks for your dinner.”
Eldridge smiled gentlemanly. “It was my pleasure to have dinner with Ms. Wilburn.”
Wesley narrowed his eyes. This man addressed his wife as Ms. Wilburn instead of Mrs. Carlton….
He reached out to take Priscilla’s bag, then held her hand and called over the restaurant manager. “Put the dinner on my tab.”
The manager agreed respectfully.
Eldridge could sense the silent rivalry between them, but he maintained his composure. “Then should I say, thank you for your hospitality, Mr. Carlton?”
His playful humor made Priscilla laugh
Eldridge knew when to take his leave. “Ms. Wilburn, see you next time.”
Priscilla nodded. “See you.”
Wesley tightened his grip on his wife’s hand. “Let’s go.”
Priscilla obediently followed him to the car, showing no intention of saying anything.
Wesley was the first to speak. “Is he your friend? I’ve never heard you mention him before.”
Priscilla turned her head, looking at Wesley with a half–smile. He had already seen her chat history with Corrine, so he should know who Eldridge was.
Such a question was unnecessary.
However, she didn’t want to cause trouble by letting Wesley’s wild guesses run unchecked.
“He’s the president of Carillon Group”
Carillon Group?
Wesley knew the name, and a suspicion began to form in his mind.
Priscilla didn’t hide anything from him. “He invited me to join his company”
“I went to see it. The company isn’t big, but it’s strong.”
“I agreed to join him.
Wesley’s gentle expression gradually turned cold. “I don’t agree.”
Priscilla was taken aback. She had never thought of Wesley’s approval

for this.
She was only telling him, not asking for his opinion.
“Wesley, you gave my position to Larissa. I have to find something for myself to do.”
Wesley’s lips pressed together, with a hint of coldness in his tone. “I can still support you.”
No wealthy wife ever goes to work for someone else.
Priscilla looked out the window, with her cool expression. Wesley could afford to support ten of her, but so what?
