Taking Back What My Sister Stole novel Chapter 66

Chapter66

She had done nothing, yet was dragged into the mess between him and Larissa.

Three years had shown her all the flavors of life.

What right did he have to refuse the divorce?

Tears streamed down her face without restraint. She bit her lip and turned away.

Wesley panicked, pulling Priscilla into his arms. I’m sorry.

Held in his embrace, it took Priscilla a long time to calm herself.

Her voice was low as she pleaded, Wesley, please let me go.

She repeated, Let me go.

Wesley kissed away her tears, his chest tight with pain. Priscilla, give me one more chance.

No

Just one more chance. If I make you sad again, I’ll agree to the divorce.

For some reason, even though he didn’t love Priscilla as a man loves a woman, he still couldn’t bear to divorce her.

Priscilla stepped out of his arms, took a few steps back, and curled lips in mockery. Wesley, how am I supposed to believe you?

You’re no different from the Wilburn family. You’re all just Larissa’s

loyal dogs.

Wesley pinched her check, his tone steady and gentle. I help her because she once saved my life.

Besides, Johan is coming back.

Johan Johnson was the man Larissa had run away from three years ago.

He had once been Wesley’s friend.

Priscilla lowered her eves. So it was because the man Larissa loved was coming back, and now that Wesley, the everdevoted second lead, had no place, he remembered his soontobe exwife.

How ridiculous.

Did he think she was some kind of stray dog shelter?

Wesley stood where he was, his face dark with depression, his heart restless and stifled.

When Priscilla returned home, the kitchen had already been cleaned

Bonnie’s gaze lingered for a moment on her granddaughter’s slightly swollen lips, then at Priscilla’s troubled expression. She understood everything.

I didn’t expect him to come looking for you.

Who wanted him to come?

Has he left?

I don’t know.

Priscilla went into the bathroom. Seeing the marks on her lips, she was

so angry her chest hurt.

That damned man.

If he liked Larissa so much, couldn’t he stay faithful to her?

After scrubbing several times, she finally felt a little better.

She thought she’d made herself clear, and that Wesley would have gone back by now.

But to her surprise, when she got up the next morning, she found he was back again.

He was dressed in black casual clothes, looking even more handsome than usual compared to his usual suit and tie.

Bonnie waved cheerfully. Wes is here, and he brought your favorite soup dumplings.

Priscilla glared at Wesley.

Like a lingering ghost.

Aetherton

Bonnie quietly advised her, You have to go back eventually. If you offend him, how will you return?

Priscilla wouldn’t listen. I’ll just stay here with you. I’m not going anywhere.

Bonnie gave her a light slap. Useless girl.

Priscilla ignored her. For now, all she wanted was to stay by Bonnie’s side.

As for matters in Aetherton, she’d figure something out later.

This time, Wesley was truly determined to ask for a reconciliation.

He brought breakfast on time every day, and after dinner, he would even take the initiative to help clean up.

It was as if he had become a completely different person.

In private. Bonnie praised how much Wesley had changed, saying that if it weren’t for the Wilburn family getting involved, he would actually be a pretty good partner.

Priscilla mercilessly interrupted Bonnie’s thoughts: If it weren’t for the Wilburn family, I wouldn’t have met him at all.

That wasn’t exactly a good thing.

Bonnie thought about it and could only sigh that it must be fate.

During the day, Priscilla helped Eldridge look for a woman with a scar on her face, and Wesley would tag along as well.

Seeing how invested she was in Eldridge’s matter, he would occasionally make a few jealous remarks, but most of the time, he accompanied her everywhere to search.

After three days of searching, there was still no news at all.

Baritel wasn’t big; it only took a little over an hour to walk from one end to the other, but when it came to actually finding someone, it was like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Priscilla was ready to give up.

Mainly, having Wesley following her around was making her irritable.

She really wanted to know if the Carlton Group was about to ge bankrupt, for him to have so much free time.

That evening after dinner, Wesley didn’t leave as usual.

Chaparbe

He threw up.

Priscilla heard the sound of retching coming from the bathroom and was stunned for a moment before realizing it was Wesley.

After all, they’d been married for three years, and she had never seen this less dignified side of him.
