After Priscilla finished packing, Wesley was already waiting at
the door.
Seeing the tears still on her face, he felt a pang of sympathy and comforted her softly, “I’ve hired a professional caregiver to look after Grandma. The caregiver will report Grandma’s condition to you every day, so don’t worry.”
A ripple stirred in Priscilla’s heart. “Thank you.”
The next morning at eight o’clock.
Priscilla entered the R&D department wearing an off–white business suit.
The staff who were arriving for work were all surprised to see her. They asked about her recent situation and started talking about the delayed launch of the perfume, with more than a few complaints.
Priscilla entered the office. All of Larissa’s belongings had been moved out and piled up at the workstations outside.
Priscilla didn’t spare them a glance and simply told everyone to go to the meeting room for a meeting.
Larissa was the last to enter the meeting room. Her eyes were red, clearly from crying.
Priscilla hadn’t expected her not to resign.
After all, for Larissa, this was an enormous humiliation.

Priscilla was momentarily distracted, but quickly refocused, listening to the R&D staff report on their recent work and occasionally interjecting with questions.
Larissa was the last to report.
She had been demoted to an ordinary employee and was no longer qualified to sit at the conference table, instead sitting on a chair at the back.
At that moment, all eyes were on her.
There were quite a few people gloating.
She bit her lip, clutching a thin sheet of paper tightly in her hand.
Ten seconds passed, and she still hadn’t spoken.
Priscilla said crisply, “If there’s nothing to say, then everyone can return to their stations. A detailed schedule will be sent to everyone later.”
She was the first to stand up and leave the meeting room.
Larissa, feeling utterly humiliated, lowered her head, wiped her tears, and rushed out of the meeting room.
At ten o’clock that night, seeing her colleagues still working overtime, Priscilla ordered some late–night snacks for
everyone.
She herself got up and went out to the corridor, stretching her arms in the night breeze to relax her body.
A pair of male arms hugged her from behind.

Priscilla caught a familiar scent.

She didn’t struggle, just squinted her eyes and gazed at the city nightscape.
Wesley kissed her delicate, fair earlobe, his voice low and sexy. “How was your day?”
Priscilla turned her head to avoid his intimacy and replied coolly, “It was fine.”
“Larissa said you embarrassed her.”
Priscilla broke free from his embrace, her gaze cold and her tone devoid of emotion.
“I didn’t embarrass her.”
Wesley’s handsome brows slowly furrowed. He stared at Priscilla’s calm expression and reminded her, “The late–night
snacks.”
Priscilla didn’t understand what he meant, but she didn’t like him coming to question her.
She said coolly, “If you feel sorry for her, tell her to resign or transfer to another position.”
With that, she turned and went downstairs.
The atmosphere in the R&D office area was relaxed at that
moment.
Everyone thanked Priscilla for the late–night snacks when they saw her.
Priscilla nodded and turned back to her office. As she passed

Larissa’s workstation, she frowned.
There were no snacks on Larissa’s desk. She sat at her workstation, her eyes full of tears.
When she saw Priscilla, she quickly lowered her head, looking. aggrieved and bullied.
With an expressionless face, Priscilla called over the person who had arranged the snacks and asked why Larissa hadn’t received any.
That person replied guiltily, “Oh, I forgot. After all, she never used to eat with us, always saying this was junk food and too much of it was bad for you.”
Priscilla told her to bring a portion to Larissa and warned her not to let it happen again.
What Priscilla didn’t know was that the person turned around and dumped a bowl of soupy food on Larissa’s desk, speaking harshly.
“You only eat if someone serves it to you, huh? Still think you’re the director?”
“Useless.”
The bowl of soup splashed all over the desk, and some even splattered onto Larissa’s clothes.
Larissa looked toward the office, her eyes red with anger.
Priscilla was very busy.
The old formula was restarted, and she worked around the clock in the lab for a week, constantly optimizing the formula

ratios until she finally created the scent she had envisioned.
When she changed out of her lab coat, she was in high spirits.
Soon, she would be able to leave with the Holiday Series perfume.
But something felt off outside.
Countless probing eyes were fixed on her.
Someone came over and whispered, “Ms. Wilburn, Mr. Carlton and the police are waiting for you in the office.”
Wesley and the police?
