Tempted Trapped and Too Late to Run novel Chapter 900

Clara’s fingers stopped in midair as she glanced at Justin.

Justin let out a harsh laugh, full of smug satisfaction. He wasn’t as clueless as Lucius—he’d already called the cops before coming here. By now, they were probably waiting right outside the door.

As if on cue, the police had seen everything. The timing couldn’t have been better.

Justin’s eyes gleamed with triumph, and a wicked grin finally stretched across his face. “Attempted murder, Clara. You’ll be spending your next life in prison. You and Dylan—what a doomed couple.”

The officers had witnessed Clara holding a shard of glass to Lucius’s throat. Now, they had their guns drawn and aimed.

“Drop the weapon!”

Clara’s gaze flicked to Lucius, who was sprawled out on the floor.

Lucius arched a brow, his face twisted with a cruel sneer. “You really think you can kill me with the cops right here? Think about what you’re doing, Clara. Dylan’s gone. You’ve got nobody left. Enjoy rotting in prison for the rest of your life.”

He barely finished speaking before Clara acted. She plunged the glass forward.

Warm blood splattered across her cheek, and for a moment, her eyes looked empty—like she was somewhere far away.

Lucius’s face froze in a mask of shock and smugness, as if he couldn’t quite believe what had just happened.

Even the police hesitated, stunned. Then a gunshot echoed through the room.

Clara’s arm was hit. She stumbled back, clutching her wound.

Outside, Uno heard the chaos and rushed in. The second he saw Clara bleeding, he looked ready to fight.

Clara forced a crooked half-smile. “Let it go.”

Uno froze, confused. “What?”

Holding her bleeding arm, Clara repeated quietly, “I said let it go. Uno, come here—I need you to do something for me.”

Uno stepped closer, his voice barely a whisper. “What is it?”

Clara lowered her lashes, whispering so only the two of them could hear, “Once I’m gone with the police, find a way to take out the man behind me.”
