The Alpha's Unwanted Omega Mate novel Chapter 92

Chapter 92

Xander

The crisp morning air blows towards us today only adding to the tension running through us. Aiden and Daisy both stand beside me while our battle ready pack members stand behind us as we stand by the border. The scent of Moonlight Pack’s marks is fresh mixed with the rotten stench of rogues,

I guess they didn’t heed your warnings. My Beta, Carmen murmurs next to me. Their arrogance is obvious too. They don’t even realize Trent is taking over their pack. They’ll be killed or imprisoned without the war.She sighs softly. How stupid is this pack?

Having grown up together, Carmen has always been in my life. She was born to be my Beta just as her father was born to be his. In Royal Pack, bloodlines matter a great deal and have traditions and history to them. While we don’t follow the same monarchy system as our ancestors, we all still have titles to consider.

I nod in agreement. Very stupid indeed. But hey, they reap what they sow.Carmen looks amused but it only lasts a second. This isn’t the time for jokes and laughter. It’s been a while since my wolf has gotten a chance to fight. He stirs in my mind always ready to surface.

Carmen nods. He can be scary and dangerous but since he’s on my side, I have nothing to fear.” Her expression still looks unsure.

Everyone says and acts as if my wolf is very intimidating. He and I share similar thoughts so I don’t see the issue. I never found Father’s wolf that bad either while others trembled at his presence.

Alaric is always ready to defend wolves in need or loyal to us,I tell her. If I need his strength, then I use him but I don’t use him often.Carmen shudders making me raise an eyebrow at her. What?

That’s what makes you so formidableyou don’t even use your wolf yet you have that power behind you. The royal bloodline is amazing indeed.Carmen says making me roll my eyes. It’s true! Your sons are already the same way.

I only chuckle and look forward once more. Your bloodline is pretty impressive too. After all, you’re considered a commander in terms of titles. That’s why you’re my main Beta instead of your mate. Plus you grew up with me and are my best friend.I nudge her gently.

Carmen smirks at me. Not as impressive as yours but thanks, pup. I appreciate the continued respect.I let out a faint growl and scowl making her grin. What? I am older than youand you were an adorable little pup.

I scoff and shake my head. Don’t call your king adorable.I scold her. Of course, it isn’t an order as if it’s all fun and games. I would never bend Carmen in that way for any reason.

You two have an awesome relationship,Aiden says making both of us look his way. I grew up with my Beta as well.He looks back at Peter and sighs. I just wish we were as close as we used to be

The tension around Peter has been off from day one from the time he arrived in my pack with his chosen mate and her daughter. Now it’s so much worse. His wolf is in complete control his eyes are crimson reminding me so much of Magnus much to my dismay. Whatever he’s going through is making his human half hideaway.

I don’t have time to wonder what it might be as Carmen suddenly tenses and is on high alert in mere seconds. A familiar scent is coming closer a burst of woody pine and basil. I clench my fists and any playful energy fades in a heartbeat. Now it’s time to get serious.

Magnus comes out of the bushes holding his sleeping daughter in his arms. He raises an eyebrow and chuckles. Well wellyou guys are exactly where I thought you would be.His bloodred eyes sparkle in faint amusement.

Just the sight of my former friend sets me off. The betrayal and hurt stabs into my heart but I only let anger show. Where are the pack members and the rogues? I figured you arrive with them to show off how you have them wrapped around your finger.I say sarcastically. What’s wrong? Are they all

scared?

Magnus tilts his head to the side. Not at all. I’m positive that they’re making their move as we speak.Confusion rushes through me. Why is he saying this when they’re not here? Didn’t you know? Rogues don’t play by the rules nor are they honorable.

I grit my teeth. Magnus has always been this way, talking in code rather than just saying what he truly means. It was frustrating growing up but not to this extent. Back then he was like family and a good friend. Now I can’t even recognize himor perhaps this is his true self after all,

Chapter 92

Magnus studies me closely. You’re getting annoyed with me, pup. How funny it is to trip your up like the old days.He tilts his head. Tell me what li this rogue group known for? What do they do? That will grant you an answer I believe,

I scowl. What they do? What they’re known for?Why is Magnus speaking in riddles at a time like this? I want nothing more than to punch his stupid face but he’s also a warlock. He would never allow it unless it amuses him greatly.

Still, I begrudgingly think about what Trent is known for regardless. He likes to take over packs for their territory and she wolves. They never see it coming with no scent markers or anything. They have amazing stealth and strength and catch the pack off guard after learning their schedules and finding a weak point. What does that!

My face pales as the obvious truth dawns and Magnus’s eyes gleam. There you go, pup. You better hurry nowotherwise, your precious Anna and little puppies will be just more pawns for their entertainment. He purrs and pats the girl’s back. We would want thatright?

Just then, a panicked mind link message rings in my ears. We’re under attack! They’re going after the children, come quick! We need backup! My heart stops. Anna is the one who’s sounding the alarm. My mate and pups are in danger. Everyone around us must have gotten the same message as they start to panic around me.

Alaric takes over in a heartbeat. Silence! He snarls and everyone tenses around me. He never has to use an Alpha’s command to make everyone listen. We’re going back to camp! This battle has on honor so treat them the same way.

Alaric shifts into our wolf form making our clothes rip into many pieces. As he takes off, Magnus chuckles. Good luck with your final test from me, pup. This angers Alaric but he doesn’t look back. Not when our pack is in terrible danger.
