The waiter turned around to see a woman holding him up, preventing him from bowing down as he had been about to do.
This woman was the same one who had just accepted a man's proposal.
It was Emmeline!
Her eyes were resolute as she spoke to the waiter, "We all saw what happened. It was clearly her being unreasonable, and she even burned you. She should be the one compensating!"
Hearing Emmeline's words, the waiter felt a surge of emotion he hadn't expected. He had been insulted and cursed at, yet had felt no urge to cry until now. A stranger standing up for him and claiming justice on his behalf suddenly overwhelmed him.
He clenched his fists and stood up straight.
"Who even are you, sticking your nose where it doesn't belong?" Georgia, hearing Emmeline, pointed at her with a haughty arrogance.
Emmeline was about to reply when Spencer pulled her close, using his tall frame to shield her. He faced Georgia and said sternly, "Put your finger down. Pointing at people all the time, didn't your mother teach you the basic respect due to others?"
"You dare say I'm rude! You all heard him, he's personally attacking me. I'm calling the police right now!" Georgia was livid, her chest heaving with anger.
Spencer remained calm and collected, "Go ahead, call them. If you don't, I will. You've burned this young waiter and are trying to extort money from him. All of us here are witnesses."
"You!" Georgia was fuming, unable to outtalk Spencer, so she turned her wrath towards the restaurant manager, knowing full well the manager recognized her.
Crossing the Reed family meant trouble!
"Manager, right? Speak up! It's either he apologizes by bowing down three times and compensates me with two hundred thousand in damages, or your restaurant goes bankrupt and you'll never live down the shame in Starhaven! Choose!" Georgia used the Reed family's influence to threaten the manager.
She had always had the upper hand in other matters, but in pursuing Alaric, she was always the one left wanting. This was her greatest source of pain and helplessness.
Spencer hit her where it hurt most, publicly stating the man she loved didn't love her back but loved another woman instead.
"No wonder Alaric didn't choose you. Who could stand someone with your temperament? He was right!" Spencer replied, hitting the nail on the head.
Spencer was being honest.
He had never met Georgia before and assumed she was like any other woman, perhaps a bit whimsical but fundamentally kind.
Now, seeing her true colors as someone who was arrogant, domineering, and a bully, he knew kindness was far from what she could offer.
