Chapter 7
“What do you mean, voluntarily leave the Contracted Realm?”
Julian Blake stared in disbelief, his eyes wide with shock. How could Evelyn possibly want to leave him?
[I’ve received authorization from Evelyn’s Arcane Pact, Contractor. I can now tell you directly.]
[During your ninety-ninth attempt to kill Evelyn, she overheard our conversation and requested her Arcane
Pact to exit the Contracted Realm.]
“What?!”
The words struck Julian like lightning, leaving him speechless.
It wasn’t only that Evelyn had overheard his exchange with his Arcane Pact. It was the fact that Evelyn-she
was a Contractor too.
He’d always thought his plans were flawless, that if he could just get through this one last time, everything
would finally be fine. But he had never imagined Evelyn had an Arcane Pact of her own.
[That’s not all. Evelyn also requested access to your memories from the past ninety-eight timeline resets.]
[Which means she knows everything you’ve done to her.]
Julian’s expression collapsed, his face contorted in despair. His Arcane Pact let out a heavy sigh.
[I warned you, Contractor. I told you you’d regret this.]
“Evelyn… I’m so sorry…”
Julian clutched his face and sank to the floor, his sobs tearing out of him, raw and unrestrained.
The mere thought of Evelyn discovering that the one who had killed her ninety-nine times wasn’t some faceless stranger, but the husband she trusted and loved most-it was unbearable. How utterly destroyed she must have been.
[Contractor, I have a video and some documents that Evelyn instructed her Arcane Pact to pass to me.]
The video revealed the hideous truth of Sierra Prescott’s actions after Evelyn’s kidnapping.
Julian hadn’t suspected Sierra, of all people. What had he been doing all this time?
The documents-unlocked with the Pact’s Power through his Arcane Pact-laid bare the truth about Sierra and the terrorist organization behind her.
Ever since her first resurrection, Sierra had ceased to be a mere NPC bound by the Contracted Realm’s rules. She had broken free, awakening her own consciousness. And by chance, she had overheard Julian’s

conversations with his Arcane Pact.
So she had struck a deal with the leader of the Ashen Order, a shadowy terrorist group. She had stolen
Evelyn’s heart, seizing the status of Lead Character. Together, they delved into the secrets of immortality.
As Julian read through the documents, he clutched his chest, his body rigid with regret so suffocating it
threatened to consume him.
“Julian, what’s wrong?”
Sierra, unaware that his Arcane Pact had revealed everything, assumed he was simply reeling from Evelyn’s
death.
“People can’t come back from the dead, you-
Her protest died in her throat as Julian’s hand closed around her neck.
Sierra gasped, her face flushing red. “Julian, what are you doing?!”
His expression twisted into something inhuman, like a demon risen from hell.
“Sierra, it was you who had Evelyn kidnapped.”
Julian pulled up the Arcane Pact’s video and played it for her.
Terror flashed in Sierra’s eyes, but she clung to denial. “That video’s AI-generated! Julian, how could I possibly kidnap her? I-”
“Because you were jealous of her!”
Julian hurled the documents at her face.
They laid out, in stark detail, Sierra’s collaboration with the terrorist organization.
With her scheme exposed, Sierra dropped all pretense.
“Yes, I was jealous!” she spat.
“Why does she get to be the Lead Character, endlessly reviving, while I’m just a Supporting Character, born with a failing heart, destined to die?!”
Her voice rose, shrill and desperate.
“Julian, you killed her a hundred times for me. Don’t you love me? Wouldn’t it be better if I lived-it we could be together forever?”
She grinned, wide and wild, like a madwoman.
“Once we crack the secret to resurrection, we can live forever-together!”

Julian stared at Sierra, his eyes blazing with hatred. His grip on her throat tightened, lifting her off the ground.
A cold, sinister smile curved his lips.
“If you’re so desperate to uncover the secret of rebirth,” he hissed, “then you can suffer every ounce of pain Evelyn endured-all one hundred times.”
