Chapter 116
Olivia
“Nothing important. Just tired,” I replied, twirling pasta around my fork. “This smells amazing.” I took a bite and closed my eyes in appreciation. “Perfect.”
Alexander leaned against the counter, watching me eat with an intensity that made me self–conscious.
“What?” I asked, dabbing my mouth with a napkin.
“Just admiring my wife,” he said simply.
“While she inhales pasta like she hasn’t eaten in days?”
“Precisely that.”
We fell into comfortable silence as I finished eating.
Alexander cleared my plate when I was done, rinsing it and placing it in the dishwasher with surprising domesticity.
“So,” I said, stifling a yawn, “back to work tomorrow?”
Alexander nodded. “Unfortunately. I’ve got about fifteen meetings that were postponed because of the honeymoon.” He grimaced, leaning against the kitchen counter. “Not to mention the Westwood account needs immediate attention, and there’s the quarterly board meeting on Friday that I need to prepare for.”
“Wow, sounds like you’ve got a full calendar,” I said, watching his face carefully. “Almost like you regret taking time off for our honeymoon.”
Alexander’s head snapped up, his eyes meeting mine. “What? No. That’s not what I meant at all.”
“Really? Because it sounded like you were listing all the inconveniences our honeymoon caused,” I crossed my arms over my chest.
“Liv, come on.” He moved closer, placing his hands on my shoulders. “The honeymoon was amazing. Perfect. Worth postponing a hundred meetings for.” His thumbs traced small circles on my skin. “I’m just thinking out loud about tomorrow’s schedule. Bad habit.”
“You have a lot of those,” I teased, my momentary irritation fading.
“And you love every one of them,” he countered with a smirk.
“Debatable.” I suppressed another yawn. “God, I’m exhausted.”
“Let’s get to bed,” Alexander suggested, taking my hand. “We both have early mornings.”
In the bedroom, 1 changed into a tank top and sleep shorts while Alexander stripped down to his boxers. The casual intimacy of our nighttime routine felt strangely normal, considering how extraordinary our situation was.
I climbed into bed, sinking into the impossibly soft mattress. Alexander switched off the lights and joined me, his body

Chapter 116
“You’re mean.” I pouted, but made no move to get out of bed.
He sighed dramatically. “Do I need to motivate my lazy wife?”
“I’m not lazy, I’m jet–lagged,” I corrected, eyes still closed. “There’s a difference.”

“Mmm, is that so?” The bed dipped as Alexander sat beside me. His hand slid under the sheet, finding my thigh. “Perhaps
you need some encouragement.”
1 cracked one eye open. “You’re dressed for work.”
“I can always get undressed.” His fingers trailed higher, brushing the edge of my sleep shorts.
I pushed his hand away. “Nice try. You’re all ready for the day. I’m not messing up that expensive suit.”
He leaned down, his lips close to my ear. “I don’t care about the suit.”
“Well, I do. You look too good to wrinkle.”
“If you don’t get up in the next thirty seconds, I’m going to make you very, very late.”
“Is that a threat or a promise?” I teased.
His answer was to kiss me, hard and demanding. My body responded instantly, a rush of heat flooding between my legs as his tongue swept into my mouth. I moaned against his lips, my resolve weakening.
“Still want to stay in bed?” he murmured, trailing kisses down my neck.
“Maybe…”
His hand slipped under my tank top, fingers skimming over my ribs to cup my breast. “You sure about that?”
1 arched into his touch, my nipple hardening against his palm. “You’re not playing fair.”
“I never do.” He pinched my nipple, making me gasp. “Get up, or I’ll make you come so hard you won’t be able to walk
straight.”
“That’s supposed to motivate me to leave the bed?” I laughed.
Alexander’s expression darkened. “Here’s the deal. If you get up now, shower, and dress, I’ll fuck you senseless tonight.”
His hand slid down my stomach, fingers dipping beneath the waistband of my shorts. “But if you stay in bed, I’ll make you come right now, and then leave you wanting more all day.”
